TRD Off Road Grill Installation

Hey All, I brought my 1794 Tundra into the dealership today to get the TRD off road grill installed since I've seen them come to the dealership with them and liked them more. I knew the TRD Pro grill's had the front camera bracket issue, but I thought the off road version was ok. The dealership just called me and said they can't get the current bracket to work, and the only way to get the right bracket is you have to buy a camera with it which is $1,000. Has anybody else done this that has any tips or can I not do this and need to tell them to put the chrome one back on?

 

There’s 4 different camera mount for different grille. Most oem finish is to buy another camera. Or make some brackets to fit it.
A is Basic grill.
B is Platinum and 1794.
C is TRD grill.
D is TRD pro grill.

 

It's a bummer that Toyota (at least for now) is not selling the brackets separately from the entire camera assembly. I know this has been discussed on a couple of other threads about the grill swaps.

I would dig through the 2 or 3 other threads about swapping grills. I believe that someone is working on designing & selling 3D printed brackets for the cameras to assist with people doing various grill swaps.

 

In case someone else sees this thread and needs a solution, we fabricated sheet metal and created two small brackets on each side that attached to both the original bracket and the holes on the sides of the new grill.
