Hi, I am interested in buying a new 2022 tundra, I want it to be the most luxury possible : such as the "Capstone" model, however I am not a big fan of only being able to get it in the black/white interior, but I do really like the saddle tan as in the "1794 model" and I want the trim around the grill to be color matched (to help tone down that huge grill). I live near Ocean City ,Md. Has anyone purchased this model truck in our area and down south to approx. Elizabeth City NC. ? And would anyone have any advice to get as close the model that I am interested to purchase ? I drove my last 2005 tundra doublecab for 10 years, and only switched two months ago to another nice 2005 doublecab tundra to have lesser miles, However, one of our daughters wants to buy me a brand new tundra for Fathers Day.... Thanks for any input / feedback.

You can only get a factory color matched grill surround on SR5 TRD Sport, TRD Pro or Capstone. Platinum has a darker chrome color than other grades but other than that they’re all chrome.

I have a 2014 1794 Tundra and am going to get a 2023 1794 Hybrid. I looked at the Capstone as well. When I added up a decked out 1794, the Capstone was roughly $9000 more for an aniline leather interior and quiet front window glass difference. There might be a few other small differences but not enough to justify it. I, too, like the saddle-brown interior better anyway. Cost isn't an issue but I feel the Capstone is not near as good of a deal as the 1794 and I like the interior better anyway. Good luck in your search with whatever you get.

The big Capstone negative for me are the 22 inch wheels….too big IMHO.

IMO, the sweet spot on these trucks in the Limited. it gives you the most bang for the buck. I see the higher trims as diminishing returns unless their is a feature you just HAVE to have.

This is why I landed at Limited as well... Wanted the TRD-Off Road, which Platinum doesn't offer... Absolutely despise the brown interior of the 1794, so even though TRD OR is available there, no deal...

Ya, I went with the TRD off road on the limited and added all of the options. Honestly there is nothing on this truck that I am missing. But thats just me

    Getting there
The regular SR5 comes with a color matched grille surround (mustache) as well. I optioned mine in what I like to call “limited light”. The packages make it very comfortable inside. I definitely don’t miss any features that are exclusive to the upper trims and I’m very happy with how my “forever” truck is optioned.

Greens in Lexington KY has one 1794, red. I just checked it out. Must say that they have nailed the interior. For the first time in a vehicle the "lay your phone here" charger actually works. If you might be interested then DM me and I can put you in touch with the manager, who is a very fair guy.
