What makes you angry?

Neighbors that let their barking dog out till 12:30AM and again at 5:30AM for hours on end. It’s the freakin weekend, come on!

 

Ordering a bed rack for the sxs from Dirt Road Fabrication in January with a quoted 10-12 week lead time and still waiting for the item to be shipped. I’m giving it 2 more weeks before I go the PayPal dispute route.

Quality is supposed to be top notch - if it ever gets here I’ll let you all know.

 

That's a bummer. Have they been communicative at least?

 

Uhhhh.... not judging the frustration, but what's w/the "$437" subwoofers. I'm assuming there's a little more to that story...

 

There will always be F%$'ed up people in this world; whether it's someone with serious mental issues, a sociopath, or just a straight up evil POS... But, what really angers me is when good people (especially those that have the opportunity and capability to successfully intervene), choose to do nothing.

 

No - they’re not. Once it became clear it would be at least a month late I asked for weekly updates. They (the wife) said they would do that but never have. To their credit, They are fairly quick to respond to my 4 or so emails telling me it isn’t finished. Last story was it would take a “couple weeks” for powder coat then be on a delivery truck the following day - that was over 3 weeks ago. It’s comical at this point.

 

Man, that sucks. I wish these companies realized that most customers will be patient IF you keep them properly informed and updated. Sharing that you're having trouble getting supplies, or that you're so overwhelmed with orders goes a long way. Sadly, these guys sound a lot like Pelfreybilt; stellar product, terrible communication, shit management, and eventually a company that folded leaving tons of customers with no refund and no product.

You've been infinitely more patient than me. I burned the bridge with Roofnest after they ignored my emails for 2 weeks. Within an hour of me requesting a refund they got real communicative, but it was too late.

 

x2. Communication is everything but so is honesty. If something's wrong and a company gives me the runaround, that's dishonesty and I'm out.

 

Quite frankly, if the excuse is lack of supplies, then you should have plenty of free time to chat and respond to inquiries!

I think too many people got 'comfy' during their down time over the last couple of years, and now that has become a bit of a habit and excuse to provide crappy service and turn around time. Not all are doing this, but I definitely think some are taking advantage of the 'pandemic tone' of customer service...

 

I was just assuming their stereo is cheaply assembled.

People who use gas pump lanes for parking with no intention of buying gas. People who are not happy with the left lane moving at 80 mph and proceed to use the whole highway in hopes to gain a few car lengths. Mostly people in German sports cars.

 

eBay sellers who don't meet the delivery timeframe, then change your order without your consent and don't reply to emails. They don't respond even after filing complaint with eBay, which eBay finds in your favor a week later, then ship out the wrong order without tracking and ask you to return it.
No seller, you will provide me with a prepaid shipping label if you want it back. Oh btw seller, I am also charging you a $15/day storage fee for each day until you get me the shipping label.

Having a stalker pisses me off. I move to a job site that is 45 minutes away on a different mountain and this ***** knows where I am going before I do.
I create a Facebook to talk with a friend in a different country. Half an hour after creating it, I get a friend request and message.
I block her number on my phone after getting 18 messages in an hour, which I don't reply to, and she messages me from another.
She has her family calling me "her Chris".

What's worse, this isn't the first stalker I've had, and I've never had any sort of relationship with this person.

 

I can't get my wife to embrace the idea that the City now picks up our trash every thursday! We're paying city taxes to cover that!!

Document. Document. Document.

Everything. Every email, text message, Facebook message, Instagram message, snail mail, voice message, etc. One day you will need that trail.

 

Does that apply to bill collection agencies stalking me?

 

Well, it could I guess. I'm not really an expert on anything. I am on the internet so I can be anything I want - right?

 

One thing nice about having an onery son that is high up in an IT department. If I had anyone stalking me, (highly unlikely) all I have to do is tell him and his reply would be DOX them.

 

Spam calls get to me sometimes. ATT use to catch most and flag them but not for the last couple of months. They seem to come in waves. 3 weeks ago I was getting a couple per day. I have not had one in over a week. If I am near my phone on the next one I am going to answer with "Sperm Bank you jack it we pack it".

 

The part that aggravates me is the call will be blocked so my phone doesn't ring but they still get access to my voicemail.

 

What makes me angry about phone spammers is that ATT&T, Verizon, and the other big phone companies could easily stop the vast majority of it, but they won't.

 

I work in telecom, and that is not true. It's not easy at all to stop this kind of thing. It takes months to properly identify and block, and the scumbags are constantly changing tactics as well. A big chunk will be blocked, and a week later there's a work around.

 

I use to get a lot of them, first one was literally 7 minutes after I activated my new phone and number. Then, I started telling them to put me on speaker and started naming off popular Indian names and saying they bring shame upon their families and calling them untouchables. Every now and then I'd say one name and say that I have video of what they were doing with their boss in his office. I don't get those calls much anymore.

 

How does that work on robots?

 

All phone switching is done electronically. It would not be difficult to add software to verify that the number doing the calling is actually the correct number, and not being spoofed. I receive the VAST majority of my spam calls from spoofed numbers.

I understand that this would not stop all spam calls, but it would put a huge dent in it.

I don't work in telecom, but I know switching and the software behind it.

 

Really? Please tell me more about my job that you don't do. We actively try to shut this stuff down. You know why? It costs us money because of how they route it, and you're wrong about differentiating a spoofed number. Phone companies hate this as much as you do.

 

I will concede and say I stand corrected. I would like to know more about how it all works, just out of curiosity.
