New battery hold down bracket from @Jbhoops assuming off his 2001.

Old one bent, fits. New one no bend, won't hold battery.
    What do??

Yes that is old towel to fill gap on rusty old bracket. Ignore ziptie messiness please, I'm ashamed enough.

You likely need one from a DC unless you can do some persuasion on your new one. DC engine bays have different dimensions than an AC.

Using @Coupe's awesome hold downs as an example.

    AC

    DC

    Well that answers that... Thanks.

I guess I'm stuck with ol rusty hold down for now.

I upgraded mine awhile back, so I might have my old one laying around somewhere. I'll take a look for it this weekend. You're welcome to have it if I still do.

That would be pretty great if you could dig it up! Those custom brackets look rad but are just too expensive for me. Either way thanks for the clear answer. On some level I'm glad it's not more complicated than just a DC vs AC difference.

Why are you replacing the bracket? Your original looks fine.

I just scrubbed the rust off my bracket with a wire wheel, treated it with rust converter, and then painted it. It still holds the battery.
