I'm about to place an order for a Leer 100XR (only model currently available for '22 model). Sounds like there is an option for either a removable or folding rear window. I had the folding version on my ARE that was on my Tacoma, but could kind of see benefit of a completely removable one, especially with the Tundra rear cab window folding down? Was thinking about camping in the back and sliding it under the bed platform or something for ease of getting stuff from the cab...I'm unsure and torn either way - anyone have pros/cons of either option? Thanks in advance!

I have a 100XR with the sliding & removeable window. It's been handy with a crewmax short bed. Sometimes I haul long lumber through it and the fold down cab rear window if I have a longer drive with it. That way I don't have to deal with the rear glass on the shell bouncing around. The only con I can think of is that it does rattle a bit but its nothing too bad.

Great point! Didn't think about that, I did haul some stuff in the old ARE and it seemed like it was straining the folded window. I read some posts online (a few years older) about the rattle, was hoping that was outdated, how noticeable is it?

Its not that bad to me. I can faintly hear it making a squeaking-like sound if Im coasting on a smooth highway with no music on. Other than that I don't really hear it to be honest. I've been meaning to double check if I have it seated properly but keep forgetting since its so minor. If you're the kind of person that is driven crazy by rattles and stuff it might bother you more though haha!

Get as many sliding and removable windows as possible. I have a leer and the side windows just vent which sucks for my dogs and stuff in the summer can’t complain too much I only paid $500 for it but if I was getting new all sliding windows with removable front window for sure.

Getting a vented/sliding windoor on the passenger side and regular sliding window on the driver side - the XR has the actual sliding option vs. the pop-open vents on the XL / Snugtops which I'm not a huge fan of.

I have a sliding removable front window on my Leer Legend. To date I haven't removed it but I like having the option. If nothing else, it allows me to clean the rear window of the truck from time to time.
