Looks good! Did the kit eliminate the tire rub in the front?

Yes zero rub, it works but nothing beats a good suspension lift for ride quality

Is there a meet up this Sunday for the OB group? I may try to attend for my first time; hopefully I’m not too hungover :burp:

It’s usually the second Sunday but with Mothers Day it will be this Saturday1-3pm. Saturday I will be at Ole Miss College for my daughter‘s graduation so I won’t be there but there’s always a great turnout of people.

Btw if you need foam for off road builds for boxes, cases, or the like Kaizen foam works great. A long box knife blade cuts it well to make nice looking trays.

My next project is more off road gear related than directly TUNDRA related, but it will go into the truck. There are a number of bed slides on the market but my problem with them is they span the entire width of the bed. Plus they tend to eat up or 3 so inches of vertical height. Plus you can’t remove them easily if you don't need a bed-slide to tackle a project.

So I’m building a half bed-slide that will have a tray that is 1” above the bed and will take 1 minute to place into the truck or remove and be securely anchored to support around 300lbs. My fridge, water, and misc gear will go on it for camping and other gear when I’m not camping. Or it comes out.

    Still in process

Got a lot done today on my half bedslide. I had to rework my 3” angles as I had to switch to 60” slides instead of 58” due to availability. All my rivnuts were already placed too, hassle! Got the base cross members done, rear anchor cross member, Rivnuts in the bed for the quick mount, and Rivnut up by the tailgate. It works very similarly to how we designed our PullKitchen mounts. So to remove this slide I pull the orange pin and remove one half inch bolt up front. Takes 1 minute to install it or remove it, plus I only lost 1.25” of vertical height so my fridge and gear fit nicely under the cover.

I still need to finish the handle and locking bar, then I’ll take some better build shots

Got my half bedslide done finally! I’m happy with how it came out. It uses two 60” slides, rated for 330lbs. The whole unit can be placed or removed from the bed in under a minute. There’s a 1/2” bolt up front and it’s anchored by the rear mount that centers the rear and the large orange pin prevents it from pulling out.

It’s 22.5” wide, 63” long, and the drawer height is only 1.25” above the bed so my Dometic 75DZ still has almost inch of clearance under the cover. There’s a pull handle and the bar in front of it depresses to release the locks while stowed or fully extended out.

    It’s extends 10 feet and 5 inches!

I got my KB Voodoo ProMax rack and cargo tray on. Still LOTS to do, like add the gear lockers when they come, rack lights, and chase bar. Here’s a simple PullKitchen and brief rack video

Got my @KB Voodoo lockers in, very excited about the extra storage for recovery gear and tools that free up bin space on the cargo rack. I’ve got discounts available if you are thinking about KB Voodoo racks or bed bars, just send me a message

This isn’t really about my build but I thought it was cool so I wanted to share. If you are a gamer you might’ve heard of Vanoss gaming on YouTube, Evan is customer of ours and put up a great post about his PullKitchen. He has a @KB Voodoo rack system with cargo tray. Yeah he saw my Tacoma build and copied it. Jussayin :hattip:

Alright I got a lot done!

Doesn’t look like much but it is time consuming. Lights, and the wiring of them.
I use cheap rock lights for my camp lights because…well they are cheap and I just need rugged water proof lights. That braided cord goes to the 12 pin plug I installed previously.
    F9E8E613-E916-4E9D-BA54-C739F378967B.jpg

Link to the rock lights I use for rack lights
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VMNJSWX?_encoding=UTF8&ref_=cm_sw_r_ud_dp_TPH86A00WC0V6PMCAJG8

I put 4 around the sides with custom mounts to angle them out but not into my eyes at camp. I had an extra one so I mounted it for the cargo area. To that same circuit I wired in amber LED’s to my tool boxes on the @KB Voodoo rack.
    E985A072-3AE3-4F2D-A2B1-8E8244545B6D.jpg

On a separate circuit I have power going up into my tent, I added an automotive plug so if I need to detach the tent from the rack it’s easy (not pictured yet). I have a 3rd light circuit that will be an amber spotlight for the top of my PullKitchen. The PullKitchen has no shortage of lights but the tops can be a little dark as the LED’s shine from underneath the tops in the storage areas.
    Cargo Light

KC HiLites LED bar installed and wired. Imperative for group travel in dusty conditions.
    6FD500C2-C1E4-488F-9773-EF38D4C0463E.jpg
Btw I don’t like most tent mount systems for off road durability so I used long carriage bolts through the aluminum extrusions to lock nuts.

I added pull handles for my monster paws
    6D800AF2-3277-4970-8F39-0E68DDE75A06.jpg 5F2CD3D3-4337-4148-BE8F-1D3F8E412254.jpg

I also decided to add an extension to hold more gear under the rack to effectively make the cargo tray longer

    F5FF73E7-04E7-4AA5-A8BC-5FCFDD0147AF.jpg

This is all on top of a Diamondback cover, and it designed to lift off in less than 5 minutes.

Here are some more photos of the area light mounts, the 12 pin connector that powers the rack, how the power panel and air compressor configuration looks, the KB Voodoo tonneau cover bracket location, tent power, and my slide-based camping solutions.

    9B715BF8-94A7-427D-8A6C-25416A65599E.jpg

12 Pin connector, allows to me quickly connect and disconnect the rack from the truck to remove the rack and tent as a whole unit.

KB Voodoo bracket, I have the 5.5ft bed, and I drilled out the little bolt and screwed in a grade 8 bolt
    07545922-01F6-44BF-809B-15FE42A63358.jpg

Power to the tent with an automotive disconnect plug if I need to separate the tent and rack. This power goes to the switched LED light inside the tent, a 12v to 5v usb charger step down, and an external switched LED light near the ladder. There is a master switch on the power panel in the truck bed to kill all power to the tent so I don’t have to wonder if an LED light was mistakenly left on when the tent is closed up.

Now I don’t like to brag, but my pull out game is strong ….

Thinking about building a very similar cargo slide.

What are you using for your rivnuts?

    1/4-20 Rivnuts to grip 3/8”

I was able to use our shop’s pneumatic Rivnut tool, ooooh so nice

Yeah I thought about changing it up but it just works so well for me. I’m about to unload my truck after my trip this past weekend and it really is about 10 minutes total to lift off the rack and tent, pull out the PullKitchen, and remove the fridge. The half bed slide I keep in usually.
    Thanks for the note!

Went camping this past weekend at Leavitt Lake in the Sierras of California. 9600’ and it was awesome.

We had 2 PullKitchens there :)
