What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

I have bins of stuff to do and it’s rare that I make forward progress. Feels good when it happens though.

 

Only had it in a few weeks. Noticeable increase in starting power. Did the diode swap - time will have to tell on the longevity.

 

Here are the “mounts” tapped with M5x.8 screws. Those screws or ones like them (black) become my hard mount points. I’ll have to make some brackets to adapt something more universal, but I’m thinking 3/4 rod with 20mm ball mounts. That opens the door and is pretty minimal(ish).

Yea. Lol. A bit latter in June I have some time set away to mod (repair) house stuff. My wife likes the truck but that only goes so far.

Crucial to get the house stuff done in order to buy some more time on what’s really important. Aka the truck.

 

It was 40 degrees cooler up there, I brought a sweatshirt for the little, the big one ended up getting the dash blanket, which I then commandeered. LEO was in full force and not fucking around up there, super glad I had a car ahead of me…….that got pulled over.

 

I always keep the speeders ahead of me on long trips and most highway trips. If I'm not going as fast as them I'm cool, I tell myself. It seems to work. 1 ticket in 20 years but I deserved that one and was out of county, didn't know the traps. Respect and the kiddo wingman got that 87 down to a 70 in a 55.

 

After 9 years of owning my 2002 AC I finally replaced the broken plastic latches on my quarter windows! Very happy to be able to keep these windows open now

I chased my dead gauges/ blowing fuse to some wiring in the rear taillight. The heims on my front shocks need to be replaced. I am debating making a trip to Garden Grove to get them fully serviced and upgraded. I also replaced a blown exhaust gasket just in time for me to receive my Smog notice.

 

F'ing leaf packs man. You would think slabs of steel wouldn't be such a royal PIA to get right

Nice work! I need to do this to put off doing the ECG bushing upgrade a little longer. We're your boots torn? Mine aren't that I can tell I think that clamp just loosens over time.

 

“Fixed” mine 15 years ago when my son broke it fiddling with it. Just got new aluminum ones in to replace them. They are 30% too wide to fit. I’ve ground one down to appropriate size and need to do the other. Also lost the small pin from the first one. Re-assembly has been sloooooow.

 

Wife backed into the trailer. Bent the oem chrome bumper.

Looking at aftermarket replacements and really not seeing much that catches my eye. Also, prices are insane these days for steel, shipping, etc.
I'll probably get a new oem toyota and paint it black.

Plus, I want to keep oem hitch since I know it is bombproof.

Appreciate it. I bought those parts, but when I looked at it the PO had already upgraded them. Not sure what the deal is, but will take a look soon enough. Need to get that figured out before I take it in to get a re tint done.

 

Love that area so much, ill probably try to go there again sometime this year. Was that funnel lake you were at?

 

A Ridgeline bonanza would be awesome. We have a 3 day plan but no date(s) set. Sometime this summer while it's hot as F at lower altitudes. As soon as we have something, I will share over in General or somewhere. I'll be sure you get word.

Yea that area is amazing. Have you been up to Monache Meadows? Definitely worth it. Also, at the fork to go left to funnel lake or you can go to the right there is a cool seasonal lake back there. I havent been to funnel lake, but one year some guys told me to check out the right at the fork and ended up having a whole lake all to myself. Went last year and it was all dried up though.

 

Haven’t been to monache but it’s on the list along with Kennedy meadows and a bunch of other spots in the Sierras.

I’m not sure which fork in the road cause there are many on the way there but there are 2 paths to Funnel and I will avoid taking the 1st path next time. “The land of a thousand lakes” and some dry out. There was another lake right above Funnel with a waterfall. Next time I’ll have gas reserves so I can search for more lakes.

Here’s a map of the 2 paths to Funnel. I did the trail at night so I may have missed the lake. Took the 2nd path on the way back which had a few obstacles but wasn’t insane like the 1st path.
