Hey everyone, im new here and having trouble with my Tundra. I had the wires to the cam sensor get worn by the belt so i pulled it and "Fixed" the wire, so i thought. I got the truck to start back up but then it turned off. Then started right up the next try. I drove it 2 miles to home depot as a test and pick up some stuff. It started up in the parking lot then died again. I got it started again but it again died right away. I then got towed into a parking lot and tried to mess with the plugs and wire to see if that was it. It would not fire for about 10 min then started up for a moment and died again. Is this the cam sensor or the wire harness? or am i missing something? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Welcome....
Do you have a check engine light and if so, have you read or had someone read the code ?
Is your check engine light working. With key in IGN ON only, is the check engine light on, showing that it indeed works ?
There should be a code registered if the Camshaft Position sensor has a problem.

If you have VoltOhm meter, you could check for proper voltage. Perhaps your splice fix needs to be double checked.

The Check engine light is working i do not have a code reader, i can say that when it starts the light goes out but it is otherwise on when it wont. I guess I should get a reader.

so i got a reader and check for codes, o2sensor and abs sensor popped up. I still cant get the truck to run for more than a minute before it shuts its self down. Im getting to the point of scrapping it.
