Do whatever trip you did at 24mpg in the opposite direction, and post those results.

I’m guessing it would all be uphill and a much different story.

Im bot bullshitting here! I did a brake and rotor job the other day. As always, Toyotas are known for shit parking brakes. When i removed rear rotors i noticed the park brake “shoe”wanted to come with rotor. Had park brake adjusted and this was the result. I drove 20 miles at the 18.4mpg and was all flat. On ramp was a “get up to speed” acceleration then hit cruise at 68. Take it or leave it fellas. It worked for me.

I have the opposite problem. With the transmission in park and the brake set, my truck still wants to roll away.

If I kept my 2018 with 34.6" BFGs below 70, I could get 18mpg no problem. 75 or above and she would drop to 15mpg and worse. That DFW gas is shit too. Would get 12mpg from DFW to Amarillo in my Tundra or GX.

Maybe that is why I never get over 14.
I usually get gas at Kroger, the one time I got it from Fuel City there was a noticeable decrease in MPG.
Rumor is the feds are going to allow more ethanol in fuel to lower gas prices..:(

Doesn't going to a larger tire throw off the MPG reading on the truck? Not sure which way it would take it, but I'd be curious what you were getting if you manually calculated it. If that's truly what you are getting though that's awesome.

    Pretty things
Edit: this post is a decoy and contains mental flatulence

Larger tires will make the trucks readings HIGHER than actual.

Truck thinks it's traveling further than really is on set amount of gas.

    Edit... strike that. Reverse it

    Let me try this again.

Larger tire circumference will travel further on one rotation than a stock size tire... Actual driven miles are more than what the truck thinks.

More miles on the same gas means the truck will calculate lower mileage than hand calculated

To calculate how far off it really is, go to tiresize.com. Click on the comparison. For size 1, enter the specs of the tire your truck came with (for most of us, it’s 275/65R18…not sure what the factory specs for trucks that came with 20s is). Then enter your larger tire’s size in size 2, and hit compare.

For example, my 285/75R18s are 8.4% larger in diameter (and therefore circumference) than stock. Therefore, I take my dash readout and multiply by 1.084 to get what the dash would read if it were calibrated for stock.

That's brilliant. Let's use cropland and our food - and/or the food for our food - to save a few cents on gas (which is a lie anyway due to decreased efficiency). Granted, a lot of us could stand to eat fewer calories (myself included) but this isn't the way I want to do it!
