Anyone else have this issue? It is separated by about almost a half inch.

Those look like aftermarket fender flares and just double sided tapped on

Were those fender flares original (from Toyota) to the truck? They look like after market. It looks like it might be an installation problem of the fender flares. Whatever the cause it has to be frustrating.

Dude, your truck is NOT falling apart. Those shitty taped-on flares are coming off, though.

Yep. Aftermarket parts with double sided sticky tape for the win!

Yea they are original fender flares. I’ve got a two toned 1794 so it’s all from Toyota. All the bottom screws are there, just seems like the flare warped.

Interesting! I see the truck in your avatar. You 100% sure that’s from the factory? Seems like it could be a dealer option. Rare either way.

If they’ve been there a while, I’m not sure how beneficial taking them off and putting some PPF on to protect the finish, but that’s what I would probably do

You’re right it could be a dealer option. I’m really not sure. That’s just what they told me. I’ve tried to get a hold of the midland tx dealership but their service sucks and they don’t get back to you.

I should give them a call and see if they can tell me. Either way, it’s still attached on the bottom of the wheel well. Just needs a better adhesive on the bend.

I had that issue with a different truck with flares from the factory. It's an easy fix. Remove the flare and the old 3M adhesive and clean both the flare and the truck (only were the flare mounts) with dish soap to remove any wax or oils and then reinstall with new 3M tape.

    Lots of shenanigans.
You’re right.. it is falling apart. You ought to cut your losses and sell the thing before it gets worst and breaks down on you.

Yea you’re right, simple enough. Just an annoyance. Good thing is that all the fasteners don’t seem to be damaged. Maybe the heat got to the adhesive?

I would blame bad surface prep or installation. It's important that both surfaces are super clean. When I painted and installed flares on my Ram, I used the gray 3M tape and it held great for over 10 years without any issue.

Honestly, it'd bug the shit out of me too. But that's one of the reasons I joined this forum, to find answers to any shit that might bother me about my truck. That and to buy mods that I never knew I needed... Thanks to @RainMan_PNW it has been great for both.

There's a guy around here (Central Texas) that has that same trim on his Bronze 1794. I figured he did it himself/herself/their self.

Yeah, I guess that came across a little alarmist and could've been worded better but no harm, no foul.
