TRD Pro grille and hood bulge swap...lines look awful

Hey guys. 2019 SR5 here. I swapped out my chrome hood bulge and grille today for a pre-painted TRD Pro hood bulge and grille purchased from Sparks Parts. Got everything installed and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed with how the parts line up. Everything clicked in as it should, all the fastener holes lined up perfectly but after spending $1200 for the OEM bulge, grille, and acrylic piece I guess I would've expected more. The passenger side's lines are really bad. Look at how the bulge hangs just below the hood line on the passenger's side but lines up perfectly on the driver's side. The hood on the driver's side is higher than the passenger's side (you can see this if you compare both pics). I didn't pay attention to how the chrome pieces lined up honestly so I have no point of reference. Am I being too critical here? Is this normal? Any adjustments I can make somewhere? Thanks.

Loosen the bolts on the bulge on the passenger side and center and see if you can move it up just a hair. It's not off by much. I'll look at mine tomorrow.

I’ll give that a shot tomorrow and report back. Thanks.

As mentioned…probably can adjust the bulge…overall it looks fine…one hell of a lot better than the chrome

I have a 2020 SR5 with chrome and just looked at mine and there is a very big gap at the top point of the headlight where the hood meets the part between the grill and headlight, and I think yours looks looks like less of a gap than mine has (gap is probably there for the hood closing so the parts don't bind on impact), so from what I see I would say you should be good to go.

On the bright side you will be the only one who will ever notice. I think it looks good either way. I don’t even want to go check mine cause I’m sure it is probably not perfect. If that bothers you though don’t check on if your axle is centered and if your rear bumper has even gaps on each corner. Many of them are pretty far off. :gossip: My father’s best friend is in the auto body business and he says he’s seen some really bad panel gaps and misalignment issues on brand new trucks of other brands, especially Fords. He usually ends up fixing them, he gets a lot of dealer work.

Did you take pics of the chrome pieces before you removed them?
It may have looked the same.

Don't feel bad. My Pro grille lines up just like yours. Not on one of my priorities to fix.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I wasn't able to do much as it relates to the hood bulge but I was able to slightly pull the passenger side grille back and then tighten the 10mm fasteners and now the lines (hood bulge to grille surround) are at least lined up. The hood bulge is still slightly below on the passengers side but not enough to where I care. Pulling the grille out a tad though did create a larger gap in between the white grille surround (passenger side vs driver side shown for reference). Oh well. I'll live with it based on everyone's feedback.

The white color against black offers a ton of contrast, so it does make the alignment stand out. I don’t think anyone will notice besides you though.

I have MGM and just put grill and bulge from Sparks on mine, and it matches up on all lines.

Much better than the first attempt. Again, pulling back the grille slightly and I mean slightly on the passenger side, holding, and then tightening the 10mm fasteners did the trick.

Mine is the same way. It's about as close as it will get. Keep in mind parts expand and contract as well.
