Thanks for the welcome folks! Looking forward to my new tundra arriving, it will help ease the sting of losing my 2021 with 4500 miles on it. Damn tourists don’t know how to drive in snow

I debated whether I should wait for the 22 when I bought my 21. The process was arduous enough with the 21 and concerns over new model year issues led me to buying the 2021. I was going to compromise but a last second call from an out of town dealer led me to the exact 21 I wanted.
I had 4500 miles on it and was customizing it to my tastes when it was totaled in a wreck. That was in April.

my process then shifted back and forth between buying a used 21 or getting the 22. When I read more about the tech features, locking rear diff and crawl control I had a hard time going back to 21. Then I remembered that the 22’s were available as crewmax with a 6.5 bed and that sealed the deal.
I weighed the wastegate issues and realized that I’m in a unique position. I have 3 other vehicles to drive, plus a motorcycle. If I were unfortunate enough to have a “brick” of a new truck, I could afford to wait for parts from Toyota, even if it ran into months. I feel for anyone who is waiting for parts on a financed truck that is of no use and have no other vehicle options.
Now, I am excited to get my 22 CM, limited, 6.5 bed, trdOR in the same color as my previous truck. That’s been it saga!

Sadly I had parts paint matched from sparks to finish the chrome delete. They arrived after my wreck. Now I have army green bumper caps and smart door handles. I have to let go of my bronze methods too. I may keep the tires and put them on new rims, I plan to go from 20’s back to 17”s on my new truck. Damn bolt pattern changed!

Update, got a call from sales guy, my truck is IN! The dealership is out of town for me so I have to wait until Monday. I am super excited now!

Sorry for the crappy photo but for those waiting for their trucks, mine came with all black trd wheels on the limited trd off-road version.
I am very pleased so far with 137 miles. Averaged 18.7 mpg coming over the mountains to bring the truck home. I did not baby it and horsed it a little here and there. Ride quality, handling and cabin are all improved over same truck from 2021 that I had. Just an fyi for those waiting for 22’s.

Beautiful truck! I debated the double vs crew cab on mine and ultimately went with the double but that crew looks great!
I promptly drove mine from Bend to Mammoth and back the week I got it and I got similar mileage. The thing has pop too that my old one never had and the ride and tech are awesome. These trucks are fantastic!
Did your old one get clipped on the drive up to Bachelor? We drive that road a ton and it is always such a shit show with even the slightest moisture.
I'd be interested to hear about your 'chrome delete' methods as I'd like to remove the small amount that came on mine.

Yes, I was on my way home from waist deep champaign powder and someone coming from Sunriver ran the stop sign and I ended up in the snowbank. It sucked hard.
