I picked up my 08 Tundra a few months back. Since day one it's had very mushy brakes. I feel like I'm putting the pedal 3/4 of the way to the floor just to stop at a normal red light.

I've checked everything from the pads to the rotors to the brake fluid. Everything is in tip-top shape. The previous owners were meticulous about maintenance.

I'm thinking the mushiness might be from the rubber brake hoses going from the frame to the calipers. So I was considering getting some steel braided brake lines to replace them.

Has anybody done this? If so, what were the results? Did it get rid of or reduce the mushiness?

I was thinking of something like this kit from SDHQ https://sdhqoffroad.com/collections...yota-tundra-sdhq-built-6-piece-brake-line-kit

Though I could also probably just have some lines build for less. Unless prices have gone up more than I think in the last 10 years...
