I have a 2021 Limited and have always slid around in the drivers seat, I find them fairly comfortable for long drives but just seem to slide side to side in them.

I've ready some articles from others about tips or things they have done. One thing that a few people have mentioned is removing the power lumbar support mechanism from the rear. Can I do this without removing the seat and tearing everything apart? I see the zippers on the sides but was hoping for some direction in the process to remove this. OR if anyone else has found anything that has helped with the side lumbar support?

    Appreciate the help!

I don’t have any tips for altering the seat.

But having installed leather, I can tell you that you can likely try what you are talking about without removing the seat from the truck.

That said, I would advise you to remove the seat from the truck.

If you power the seat back all the way forward, it should make the bottom edge of the seat back visible to you from the back.

The bottom edge of the seat back is normally invisible, because it is tucked under- in the seam created by the seatback and the seat bottom resting together. Along the seatbacks underside edge, there is a zipper. I have indicated that zipper here with green arrows:

Once unzipped, you should be able to pull/tug/roll the seatback upholstery up and out of the way. I believe you would “get at” the lumbar adjustment hardware from the back.

After you’ve done the dicking around that you want to, you’ll need to reposition the upholstery and then line up that zipper and zip the seatback back up. Probably harder than it sounds.

If you’ve ever zipped up a jacket that you’re not wearing, it can be awkward. Also, this zipper will be nearly upside down and likely in a tight space. Also, these are not beefy zippers, and the upholstery is a tight fit. You could be in for a fight and you DONT want to damage that zipper.

Getting that seat out and onto a sheet of plywood on some sawhorses puts the work at waist height, and you can turn the seat this way and that more easily.

    Removing the seat:

    1. Remember, it’s an electric seat. Once you unplug it, you can’t adjust it. So run the seatback all the way forward until the zipper is in plain view.

    2. Disconnect the ground. You have an airbag system in the seat and you don’t want to risk setting it off while you’re doing your thing.

    3. Under the seat there are 3 unique sockets. They all unplug a little differently. Unplug each.

    4. Remove the front 2 bolts holding the seat frame to the body.

    5. On the back side, pull the plastic base trim off the seat frame, one on each side. Remove those bolts.

    6. From the driver door, rock the seat forward and lift.

Or put some Wetokole neoprene seat covers on and you wont slide anymore. They are expensive but really nice.

Try a different leather seat treatment. Some have a slippery feel to them. Some actually make the seat feel grippy. I prefer the slippy, it makes getting in and out of the truck easier. Haven’t noticed the unintended sliding around.
