Anyone do the Mojave Road recently?
    How would a 2019 tundra 4x4 with a 2.25” lift go?

Easy peasy. Don’t attempt a water crossing without knowing how deep it is. Mud sucks. But, aside from visible water and mud, all fun, no problem.

Depends on how much you do each day, how fast you drive. But yes, most articles I’ve read (various types of vehicles), 3 days is good. I did a portion of it, fast, as part of a longer trip. There are *many* articles about this on the internet; you can find a route and timeframe that work for you. If you have the flexibility to go on weekdays, you’ll have to share with fewer people. Don’t go until fall though. This is not a summer run, and it’s pretty much summer. Late October on….

Was just watching a good YouTube video from the guy at trailsoffroad.com and it really looks great. Would like to go sometime early Oct and convince some buddies from work to take their trucks along.

I've done the whole Mojave Road and other trails in the Mojave National Preserve, but I haven't done the whole run in one trip. The last time I was out there was in January. I've done it in sections over three day weekends and such to allow myself time to explore and see other stuff in the preserve. Much of it can be done in a stock-ish 2WD with a good driver, and there aren't really any impassible obstacles. Your truck shouldn't have any issues, just the water crossing possibly, which can be avoided.

I'd personally recommend doing it from East to West, starting in Laughlin. If you really wanted, you could do it in 2-3 days but then you're pushing yourself and potentially missing out on other fun. There are plenty of offshoots to take and plenty of scenic areas you may want to stop in, plus a lot of cool abandoned stuff to see. There are a few sections where you have to take it easy because of decent sized whoops.

Going from East to West you can also see much of Afton Canyon. You can go through Afton Canyon this way then turn around at the water crossing if you want.
Don't go through Soda Lake after it rains, and stay on the main hard pack if you plan on going across it. Wash your undercarriage real well after doing this trip because the dry lake bed is pretty dang salty. Heading East from Afton Canyon along the train tracks there is some pretty soft sand and dunes, I wouldn't advise going in that area without 4x4.

Bring extra water and gas just in case.

Let’s put a group together then. You can count me in for a Friday-Sunday trip. If we could do last weekend of September that would be perfect for me as open enrollment is my busy season and starts in October! We should put some dates down in stone and start to get a group together!

I’m down! I was supposed to do it last year. It work got in the way of it. Heard it’s mostly wash board type terrain seizes the offshoots. But I’m game!

Just keep in mind. San G is a week before and a lot of people don’t do back to back weekend trips especially if shit breaks lol. I wouldn’t push it that close

Hmm, then maybe something a bit later? My busy season as a medicare broker starts Oct 7th so there may be a chance i cant make it, but will definitely try. If there is a group that isnt going to make the San G trip and would rather do the Mojave road the weekend after, im certainly in.

A couple of the guys most eager to do this Mojave run will be at San G. That’s why it keeps getting mentioned.

Ah, i see. Well Maybe we can push the Mojave road trip a bit to later in October. Probably better that way anyhow since its only June and Death valley was 120 yesterday at mid day. Mojave was around 105 and i have a feeling were gonna get hit with a later heat wave this year.

Yes, October/December is typically nice for Mojave. September, early October is sometimes really hot.
