I have a 9 year old and a 12 year old.

Some of us have fun doing other things rather than feeling the need to spit out children in our 20s.

I have a 12 year old. He's the man. Last night we drew up some new misdirection plays for flag football and he told me I was older than Tom Brady. Sad to know that.

My wife and I did it right before him. It gets harder with child.

 

My best friend growing up just had another baby with his wife, he's 49. Another friend, same age just got married 2 years ago and he had one last year. It makes sense to me, hopefully you raise them right and then you don't need to spend their inheritance on Home Health.

Myself, I plan on a U-haul following my hearse to the cemetery. It's all going with me.

 

I am working real hard to spend it all before I am gone.

 

I can't imagine having an infant right now. I'm too old for that shit.

 

One of my few talents is spending money. I'm really, really good at it. Not like that "Brewsters Millions" shit. I would have had that money spent before the guy finished telling me the rules. Maybe that's why I'm a loser and a pauper.

 

I couldn't imagine having one when I had one.

To each their own on when they have kids, but my Dad waited until he was older. All that did was leave 3 kids without a Dad at all when he died. Having been through that as a kid and now not being far off in age from when he had kids, I'm closing the door on the possibility of ever having kids. I wouldn't want to do that to them.

We saved and lived like paupers for decades. It stacked up and the wife thought we would keep saving like we didn't have it. I told her that I loved her dearly but I didn't save an invest so that someone else could spend it after I die. I just started spending. Not like nuts but I decided on a play budget and that is how much I spend now. My 65 year old wife complained to her mom and her mom told her that I was right and to get over it.

 

Im definitely abnormal.

 

On Friday, my wife's 2018 4Runner with its factory tires made it over Vail Pass right before they shut it down. White out conditions and shit ton of accidents. She called the drive "a little sketchy." Toyota quality? Her console doesn't squeak, but if it did, I'd probably spit on it.

 

Being normal is boring.

 

I feel for you and understand your point of view.

Also, while it’s difficult losing a parent as a child, odds are, you’ll stick around longer.
I think about what times or events could be missed as my kids age, but that only wants me to make my time with them much more precious.

Many young parents are lost as well.

I think waiting til later in life actually made me a better father.

I tell my parents all of the time, it's their money and they made it. Spend it how they like. They moved and gave my nephew my dads boat. My mom said, "Did you want it?" and I told her, it's their stuff. It's not up to me and I meant it.

 

This always crack me up.. So let me guess you have either tons of cash and sh!tty credit or you're financially ignorant. Anyone with good credit finances what they can because with good credit comes the ability to obtain ridiculessly low interest rates freeing up your cash to do other things like making you money. Even Elon Musk and Jeff Bazos take advantage of practically free financing. Paying cash is for fools or those with bad credit. Which one are you?
