Hi there, I'm wondering if it is possible to swap out the original 4 speed aut trans out of my 2002 tundra sr5 v8, auto 4x4 ext cab with the 2005 5 speed trans (A750F)?
If so what's the best way to go about it? Thanks

    Not easily.

The ECU is also the transmission controller. In the Tundra the A750 only came on the VVT-i version of the 2uz.

So if you want to swap the motor as well, and figure out any wiring differences you could. Or figure out how to reprogram the OEM ECU for a different transmission... etc.

Short answer, no. Assuming you had the planetary gear failure? The 03-04 transmission with the upgraded planetary gear is a direct swap, I did it in my 02 sequoia 2 years ago when the planetary gear failed and it has run perfect ever since.

I figured it was be inprobable due to the toyota's unbreakable ecu. Thank you for the advice! My planetary gear is still good somehow! Lol I would really love the extra gear for highway mpg and the rigidity of the A750.

A750 has a granny 1st gear. OD is the same.

If you can handle the wiring, it’s doable. You’ll need a 4runner ecm from a non VVTI 4.7 4runner and an engine harness from said 4runner. Then figure out all the wires that need to be moved around on the body side connectors for said ecm

This falls under the same category as 2wd to 4wd conversion. If it's that big of a deal then just sell the truck and get an 05-06. Having driven both the 4 speed and 5 speed back to back when I was shopping the difference is not even remotely close to justifying the work.
