and are willing to live with the consequences. Both mechanical and legal.

You’ll have to fool the O2 sensors. You’ll have to not care that it’s illegal on your year model car equipped with Cats from the factory to operate it legally on the roadway without them. Most states you will not be able to pass inspection or smog.

If theives wont steal early 1st gen cats, thats discrimination, and a hate crime. I was in houston for a month, and couldnt get anyone to steal em. and i know for a fact they couldnt see me hiding in the bushes with a ball peen hammer and sheet metal shears.

I dont know if anyone ever got the electric simulators to work, but ive seen a couple get the spacers to work. I’ve been using doubled spacers on my titans rear o2’s for a few years now, no hassles.

 

If one were to ignore smog, for example in my state of WA there is no emissions testing required, and ignore the P0420 check engine code, there is nothing mechanically wrong with simply cutting out the cats and welding in a straight pipe correct?

To my understanding rear O2 sensors don't affect how our 1st-gen Tundras run. If so, the truck should run fine if you're OK with dumping even-badder exhaust fumes and with a constant Check Engine light.

@frichco228 My cats are currently on their last leg. My friend who's a tech at Toyota had plugged in the computer and watched my O2 sensors wavelengths after reving and going back to idle multiple times and he says the sensors after the cat are making it run rich and that the ecu is too stupid to throw a code. The cats werent doing there job and i'd eventually need new ones and i dont have the money to spend on New Oem Cats that you cant even get right now. I'm also open to the option of high flow cats. I'm in CA so god help me

 

Go get a pair of jy cats and weld em in. Bolt em in with flex pipe. Your call. Gut the factory cat housings and put spacers on the rear. Fine tune with drillbits. Rear o2’s wanna be cooler than the fronts. But not too much cooler. Older on/off cats could be done with a resistor, newer efi needs more, i think, but am not sure of. My titans gutted cats are using 2 spacers on each side and the first spacers got drilled too big. 2nds are drilled too, but further from the heat. I have long hill climbs to tune. Keep the light off under high heat and load. Dont let a thief cut it off, those shitstains cut the sensor wires sometimes.

 

I'm unsure if you need to find a more qualified tech or if you possibly mis-understood. The rears do not play a part in adjusting air/fuel ratio. Their only function is to observe the efficiency of the CAT. That is one reason some have deleted/bypassed the rear sensor, it won't affect fuel trims.
