Looks great. I'm getting ceramic tint done later this week. 20% on the sides and 50% on the windshield with a 5% sun strip. Getting a light tint on the tail lights as well. Pretty pumped.

That looks awesome. And for those asking about nighttime driving, it is fine.
Mine is 5% all around with 35% front row and 50% windshield (mostly for the heat in Houston, and it does work)
It takes a little time getting used to, but the tint helps my kids relax and sleep in the back during night drives.
The only bummer I guess, is the auto dimming doesn't seem to work, but with 5% in the back? Meh, I could care less.

Now, can we also tint the side mirrors? LOL..... That's the only glare I get from headlights from behind....

To each his own, I have always had problems with cars with excessive side and rear tint because most vehicles have inadequate rearward and side lighting, making backing up and turning on dark roads dicey when the windows are too dark. I do not tint my own windshields but generally find lightly tinted windshields less problematic because there are headlights.

Question about legal tint levels. My state allows a 50% tint. 50% light transmission the way I understand it. If I drive to a state which has 70% light transmission standard can I be ticketed? Pretty sure the the answer is yes. I believe some states don't allow any front side window or windshield tint so anyone with tinted windows could get dinged.
One a side note, there are a couple of LEO vehicles with some pretty dark front side windows around here. I've seen 50 tint and know these coppers are much darker than that.

I believe if you are visiting, driving through and not staying put for certain amount of time, you are ok with that tint level.
I have seen some with 5% all around with windshield too, not sure how those get by a cop car without raising hell, but what do I know....lol

When I saw the OP's pic my first thought was 'He would get pulled over daily in Texas'.
Plus it wouldn't pass the annual inspection.

But whatever works for him is fine with me.
Just don't say you didn't see me when you run into my truck.

You mean the front driver window? Yea, that will get pulled over and ripped out for sure....
However, in Houston, I guess they are after speed than just tint.... though, tint place does write "not legal" on the window shield tint receipt..... guess they have to state the obvious....

I have 5% on back and 15% on front side windows-came that way when I bought it. The back it too dark at night. Backing up in the day with any shade I have to take my sunglasses off. I can't imagine 5% all around.

I believe Tundra comes with pre-tinted glass (not window, the glass itself) which basically is almost 2% when matched with 5% tint (according to the tint shop)
I can say that it is so dark it scared me a couple of times before I got used to it.
And that's why the BSD is so important, too. Truck is simply too big to see all sides regardless the tint level...

In Texas Ive never been pulled over for dark tint. I know some people have, but only by state trooper on road trips. Staying within town Ive never had problems. Besides, its Texas. 5% all around is the way.

Well I haven't seen the need for the 2016 Honda Civic in Northeast Ohio that needs to be running 5% in the windshield lol

everyone in Canada adds insulation to their windshields to keep the cold out in the winter. Makes it hard to see but as long as we stAy warm its all good.

5% all around on mine but nothing on the windshield. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Been installing window film for almost 20 years ….at my shop we do not do windshields darker than 70% …& even with a waiver that is kinda gray area stuff
Def not doing 5 on front doors
Too suspect and also illegal to do as a installer !
Yes darker does mean more heat rejection but with the ceramic technology I believe lighter is just overall better and safer
Side note those of you stacking visors on a windshield you are shortening the life span of the film …the adhesive is meant for glass not film
Also when using a sunshade with tint that can cause too much hear inside the film potentially causing earlier failure

I had a strip over my windshield for 10yrs on my Tacoma, 10yrs on my previous Tundra, 6yrs on my Civic, and I'm a year in on the current Tundra. They always tell me it doesn't hold up as well... But I've yet to have the slightest issue.
