How Much Oil Do You Burn in Your 4.7 ?

Wonder how much different it is with vvti?

 

I’ve always been a 3k mile changer, but since grandpa always ran synthetic, i figured i’ll keep running synthetic, and take it to 5k miles.

Im 3500 miles into this batch, and the last 500 have felt wrong (in the sense my brain is constantly telling me its time to change the oil). I’m about 1/8” below the top dot, but i put a full 7qts in.

Yeah, thats just a normal subaru thing. I don't really mind that, because again, oil is cheap. The man problem is with the pistons horizontally more oil gets pushed past the oil control rings because the whole cylinder is 'wetter' than with your pistons on the top like most engines.

But mine definitely is borked somehow. 300k on a non-toyota engine I guess and its just worn out. Toyotas will spoil you.
