Hello everyone. Wondering if anyones found a repair to stop the annoying squeaking plastic noise from the silver steering wheel trim? What have you done and has it completely removed the noise or just minimized it? Thanks

No issues on my 2016 and Ive not heard of this issue before. Maybe some of the trim clips are broken?

My 2013 steering wheel has made noise over its 200,000-mile lifespan, I usually pull the wheel and clean up any dirt/dust that gets trapped in between the column and wheel from taking dirt trails with the windows down. I wouldn't be surprised if your wheel could use a wipe down and/or cleaning of the silver plastic bezels that I believe just pop on and off. Should be a cheap way to start trying to get the noise to go away.

I could of sworn I read somewhere that it was pretty common issue but I can’t find the thread anymore. I going to replace my steering wheel with revesol one from eBay so I wanted to take care of that as well. Not really an issue but just annoying hearing that plastic squeak when I grab that area.

I purchased a 2017 SR5 back in February and I know exactly what you are talking about. The bottom left, below the volume control has some movement/play in it, makes some noise. Feels cheap. Following for suggestions.

My 2017 does too. I thought it might stop after I did the leather wheel wrap, having the leather tucked around it but, it made no difference.

Mine has a plastic rubbing noise when I squeeze it just right. I decided to ignore it.

My '20 only squeaks in that spot if I push on the plastic. I choose not to push the plastic. Therefore no more squeaks.

very true. I installed the clazzio seat covers and my back seats make so much noise now rubbing on the back wall of the cab. My solution to that is raising the volume on my radio

I have a 17 and mine just started making a plastic on plastic scratching noise when I turn the steering wheel. Not sure if it’s the same issue you’re talking about, but it is annoying.
