I "face-planted" into a major pothole along the Delaware river about a month ago and threw my front end out of alignment.
It was not bad, but enough to get it taken care of. After getting it realigned, and new rear drums, (because it was needed) I noticed that I still had a vibration when stopping. Thinking that the front rotors and pads were to blame, I replaced those as well. The vibration was still there! So, now what? Tires are kinda cupped, let's get new tires, too. Ok, well that didn't work, what's next? Maybe the front bearings are bad? Replaced them, still vibrating.....mmm.
Ball joints! Let's do it!...still vibrates! Check rack and tie rod ends, made sure everything was in decent shape, still vibrating.
So, I read a few threads here and came up with the assumption that maybe, just maybe, those new drums in the beginning were faulty. Sure enough! The aftermarket drums I put on were not up to specifications. I put dealer drums on and the vibration stopped!
The moral to this story is to buy dealer parts not aftermarket junk!
    I've learned an expensive lesson.
Thank you Tundras.com for your insight and helping me find out what the problem was!!

I hate when new parts suck... Think you eliminated the source of a problem, only to have created another.

Yeah I hear that a lot with new aftermarket drums. I’ve been told it has to do with the way they’re stored. If I had the same issue, I’d get the drums turned first then move to OEM drums.
