Just picked up my Lunar Rock GreyTRD Sport 4x4 on Saturday, put on 68 total miles so far, loved it! Until it threw a “Parking Support Brake Malfunction” code/CEL and went into a modified limp mode. I was unable to accelerate uphill as it said “engine reduce power mode”. Drove it straight to my dealer and they took it in right away and are currently working on it. Really did not want this to be my first post here. I was waiting for my Westcott lift/35’s/Roll N Lock tonneau to be installed on 5/23 to make my virgin post .

I’m praying, as I really do like this truck. I’ve only owned Dodge Rams, first venture to Tundra after getting the wifey a Tacoma and being sold on Toyota quality and service.

WOW!! 68 miles and back to the dealer!!! What a shame. Really hate to hear that man. You spent all that money and now the truck is back at the dealer. Sorry that happened and hope you are not waiting for months to get parts. Let us know how it goes. All the best luck to you.:)

At least it doesn’t have an old school cable parking brake that only engages when you want it to. Those things were such a headache. Wait….

Welp, 3 days of ownership and less than 70 miles of driving it’s the turbo waste gate!!! Dealer said part is back ordered and no foreseeable repair date. Also, said they have no real fix for the problem as they are changing failed part with the exact same part. Going down tomorrow to have a very serious and possibly heated discussion.

Man, that sucks. I still got ya beat though, if that makes you feel better. Straight from test drive to service department for AC issue....5 weeks they kept it! I've had it back about 2 months now; I love the truck, but it has more problems than anything I've ever owned. Waiting on loaner vehicle to be available so I can take it back for 6-7 more problems. My first Tundra and Toyota is not impressing me at all!

    Good Luck to you.

Is the dealership setting people up with vehicles in the mean time while their trucks are in the shop?

I haven't been a huge fan of the way the front grills look on the '22s; but I have to say that Lunar Rock w/all black and no chrome looks sharp. Once they have your issue resolved and you're lifted w/35s, please give us at least a few more photos. I bet the stance and color combo is going to be sharp on that vehicle... Good luck on getting back into service quickly.

It's part of the Toyota Care policy. If your vehicle is in for warranty service and will be kept overnight, they are supposed to provide a loaner. You have to know it's the policy and call them on it in many cases. I've been waiting weeks for them to have one.

I'm taking my first 8 hour trip in my truck tomorrow. I have 200 miles on it so far. Gotta say, I'm a little nervous about it. I guess if I wasn't on here and FB then I would be in the "ignorance is bliss" category and not think a thing of it.

My local dealer definitely was not providing any help with loaner/rental car when I had the wastegate issue. Lucky for me it was way easier just to drive to the next closest dealer 20 min away and receive a loaner and excellent customer service.

That sucks dude. They really should have kept the NA V8. The twin turbos is cool but I can’t see it for long term reliability and especially the cost to fix. I won’t buy a new Tundra now because of the twin turbos, it’s to much of a financial risk if they break out of warranty.

499 miles for me. Replacement turbo has around 2000 miles on it with no issues since.

Agreed! It would look really good if he color matched the lower center bumper.
