I'm gonna drop the link but I wanted to see if anyone else has seen this. It is a first for me and I'm interested but curious as always. I'm all for increasing efficiency but I'd love to hear any stories first. Supposedly is a better solenoid that increases power and efficiency within our engines, they even have one for my 4.0 which I did not expect.

This is the company who makes the product, recently saw it on the Gram after a follower @escotundra did an install. He said that it felt like it did what they claimed.

Wtf is it? A OBDII module? Sounds like vaporware between all the amazing claims, no actual explanation, and the fancy name.

From what I saw it is a replacement solenoid for the vvt systems. Physically there is some differences that they claim here is the explanation available. I don't want to doubt something I don't know much about but I am curious.

I looked into the technical and it doesn't seem crazy. I am interested in seeing Dyno numbers though

Reads like some good bullshit to me. "There is a 10hp gain, which is so small it's hard to notice, but customers say the vehicle is so much better to drive." Yea sure it is. "Aerospace aluminum and higher and tighter tolerances." Wow, so impressed with that unspecified "aerospace aluminum", and are the tolerances higher or tighter? Those aren't synonyms. Etc. Etc. $600-800 is a lot of money to try and make your VVTI apparently react faster, save that money for some gears or buy a tune.

I'd love to buy a tune if my truck was supported by a software LOL. Hoping that someone who has bought from them can comment on their experience. I think it's possible that it can change the driving feel but price is steep for what it is considering a stock one is $150

I don’t see how this accomplished any Gains.. the vvti angles are fixed by the cam phaser in the engine… unless it’s allowing more pressure in at the same % opening… but that can be done with a tune on the ecm..

    Pretty things
The formulation of Snake Oil seems to be constantly changing.

I foresee a resurgence in (stronger/better) fuel line magnets with the next up tick in fuel prices.

...I would wait till the magnates drop. Probably the same "gains" at 5% the cost of these fancy solenoids.

If Toyota could achieve even a 2% increase in efficiency with "better" solenoids, they would.

    A Tune would be better.
Even if it can increase the pressure through valving to hit VVTI sooner "why?"
The VVTI is made to come on when the power band becomes inefficient and needs the next to come into place, that would be the equivalent to starting out in 3rd gear instead of letting 1st and 2nd gear do its thing. Sure you can wrap out 80mphs in 3rd and only up to in 45mphs in 2nd but does that mean you want to go into 3rd right away?

a Tune would allow you all around to control the aspects of how the engine is fueled and where the power band sits and what parts of timing needs to change.
