    Hi,
I am planning to purchase a set of fuel assault 18x9 wheels and was wondering if the factory tpms sensors would transfer over or if not what sensors are recommended.

Truck is 2014 Tundra SR5 Double Cab 4x4 leveled. Currently has 275/65/18's.

    Thanks!

Im confident the vendor you are purchasing the wheels from will know if the factory sensors will work. Generally, there are two used, one for steel wheels and one set for alloys. They differ in the angle of the sensor.

    this may help

    Too many, but not enough....
would also help you to know if you have steel or alloys, if you dont have an OR package on an SR5, its most likely steel.

so when I switched from stock platinum wheels to fuels in the fall they said the tpms do not always come out well and often break upon removal and encouraged me to just get new ones. it wasn't a significant expense anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I had looked at that thread before posting and was hoping I could just swap the censors.

    Hi,
This is what I am seeing the most from users. They often are likely to break. Any particular brand model # you went with or see what the website mfg I buy them from suggest. Not sure if I trust the few places around where I live to suggest anything. They seem to always want to take an impact on allow wheels from what I have seen first hand and tighten those lug nuts like no other .

    Thanks for the input.

    for sure bud!
i have to plead ignorance as to which brand i ended up with. after he suggested i replace them i just said, "please do" and they went ahead with whichever brand they use and my local shop.

Not a problem haha. I've never owned a truck before until the past couple of years so I am trying to learn and upgrade slowly. Thanks everyone for the info.

Discount Tire will replace them for a nominal fee. They work well too.

Looks like closest one is about 60 miles south which is not too bad. TY!
