    Lift has been purchased. Wheels were stolen(waiting on insurance $$)…,purchasing tires and have come to a fork in the road. I have decided to go AT route. I know everyone loves the BF KO2s but does have anyone have experience with the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT? Nitto and Toyo are 3 month wait …

    Sorry to hear about the wheels, how did that happen?

    No experience with those but I had ATZ long ago and they were very good to me. They make good tires but kind of expensive to me.

    I have the Baja Boss ATs right now, had the predecessor the ATZ P3 prior.

    The Baja’s are E loads, the P3 were D load, both were 315/70r17.

    Basically I’m waiting to see how they do in the winter weather, but aside from that I wouldn’t recommend them.

    They have some pros, they’re very quiet and have tons of sipping, but I still don’t know how they handle rain and snow.

    The cons tho, they’re stiff and very heavy.

    If could do it again I would have gone with the Toyo ATIII or the Cooper XLTs, both are lighter and softer. I have the ATIIIs on our 4Runner and they’re great.

    They’re quiet on the road, very quiet. They do have pretty good howl while turning or burming hard because of the side tread. Not something you hear often though.

    Adding this from my *build* thread, as review, first impression of the MT Baja Boss A/T;

    Finally wore out the 275/70r18 KO2s (57k) and wanted a little more tire/lift.
    so here it is today. Mickey Baja Boss AT in 295/70r18. Fox adjustable coil overs set at 2” up front. Truck rides so much better than before. Really happy with the Fox suspension. Pleased with the 1st 4 miles on the tires too. I wanted KO2s again but the back order was insane. Tires are quite and smooth. Barely clear the UCA's on stock TRD Rim and a little rub on the sway bar/skid plate at full lock. I will be taking a cutoff wheel to the skid plate. These things are so meaty in person. Really happy with the look. And the 5.7 didnt really mind the extra weight at each corner like I thought it would. I noticed more of a drop in "seat of pants acceleration" when I went up from stock Michelins to the 275/70 KO2s than I did from the KO2s to the Baja Boss. YMMV;
    This is how these trucks should look from the factory IMO.

    Looks good. Mickeys are going to be my next tire, probably 35’s.

    I'm in the Lake effect region of New York state as well and this is one of the tires I'm considering for my next set. Very interested to see how they perform in the snow/ice. Wanted to go with something a little different than the common K02, Wildpeak, Toyo, etc...

    I'll certainly post an update or two once I can get a few miles logged in the white stuff. There are a couple of us on here from "almost Canada" - in between Syracuse & the Border for sure.

    Gotcha, I spent many winters in the Watertown/Ft Drum area. In the Rochester area now.

    Nice! I'm about 25 min from Drum. Did some Reserves stuff in Webster too after AD.

    Awesome! We still make it up there a once every few months to visit. All my wife's family is in the Adams/Henderson area. Beautiful country up there.

    Nothing yet

    Your truck looks great... almost exactly what I'm shooting for. Just wondering if you had to do any major cutting with the 295/70r18 and the 2" bump up front.
    I'm planning on getting the same Mickey's on a 2.5" adjustment.
    Looking at getting my wheels powder coated too. Hopefully everything turns out good.
    Hope the tires are working out for you.
    Thanks

    Thank you - no major cutting with OEM wheels. UCA is tight, and front sway bar rubs slightly on full lock. I removed the front side, front mudflap (from the bumper, not behind the tire) on both sides. Skid plate is good. Every truck is a little different for alignment (so I would imagine even tires are too), but you should be good, if you're ok with what I've described.

    Those look great! Fat for a 295 tire. I had to look them up and they’re listed at 75 lbs! Yikes that is a fat tire! :eek:

    Thanks. Yeah the old butt dyno noticed a little at first but not anymore. Frequent flyer status at the local gas stations is looking promising though! :spending:

    I recently had a similar set-up installed on stock TRD wheels. What pressure are you running on the Baja Boss?

    Traded that truck in for a new to me crewmax. I'm almost positive I was running them at 40psi. They were installed at the shop, perfect balance, alignment etc. Never had any air pressure issues for the 5k I had the tires on that truck. Maybe someone else can chime in with some better, more accurate info. Sorry.

    I run my Baja Boss MTs around 40 and a little more when loaded.
