De-Chroming Grille Help

This related thread popped up so I will give an update I only discovered yesterday.

I am dechroming my 2018 SR5 Offroad, and I decided to stick with the honeycomb grill, I like it.

As you all probably know, when you order the color keyed grill surround, you are getting a grill, whether you want it or not.

I had planned to just reuse my sensor cover (emblem), but they have changed the grill mounts for the sensor covers! Now you have to pay $209 for a new sensor cover that will fit the grill, or you’d have to plan to pull your factory grill out of the frame and then decide what to do with the new grill when you replaced it.

I was totally unaware that they changed the design of the sensor cover and grill mounting surfaces in late 2020. So if you have a 2020 and older and you want to change you grill, this is probably going to effect you.

I just paid.

Current pricing as of today is about $778 for bulge, grill, and cover (20% price reduction on the kit as of this writing).
