What do you TOW with your Tundra?

May have to do with the fenders being in the way of opening the doors.

GVWR means nothing other than thats how much you can weigh. Some of the rvision trailers weigh like 5000 but have a gvwr of 8000. Who can add 3000 pounds

 

First time hooking up a trailer on my tundra. She soft in the rear for sure!

 

Had to run a 2” drop hitch inverted for 2” rise to keep the tandem axle trailer level. My normal 3-1/4” drop hitch had the trailer leaning forward too far.

 

Yeah, I suppose it depends on the trailer. You can use an estimate of your max cargo plus dry weight but that can be a crapshoot depending on whether you will haul water, how many and what type of batteries, etc. I could get up to my max cargo capacity fairly easy.

If you know what your max cargo weight will be definitely use that in the equation.

 

Definitely weigh your trailer on a trip. I stopped by a scale on the way home from our spring break camp. We were 35lbs over gvwr for the trailer. Doh!

 

Yeah I mean are trucks are payload lacking thats for sure. I dont think possibly eliminating even more options is necessary. Just weigh it I know sometimes easier said than done but I never carry water and definitely am under 1000 pounds cargo as I have weighed it.
I agree sometimes it works out but others it doesn't, I mean camper my max is almost 10,000 but I have never been over 8

I do agree though some have a ccg of under 1000 yet other with dual axle may be 3000 but the same starting weight, I am just saying you have to consider that

 

Not sure if it's the camera angle, but the trailer looks to be a little nose down there. Might need to get a hitch that sits a little higher.

 

I've never unhooked my trailer to weigh it alone but probably should. I have weighed it while hitched and added the hitch weight on the truck to get a estimated total GVWR for the trailer. Not sure how accurate that is though. I've always been more concerned about the trucks PL and weight on the truck and RV axles.

 

if someone tows more HP, I want to see it.

 

Can the shuttle take flight without the rocket boosters though? #justthetip

Headed out to Black Mountain Adventure Park first thing in the morning!

 

Equipment trailer with some precast concrete panels. This is it empty after I dropped them at Gillette Stadium.

 

This pic inspired me to look for a toolbox to put in the same spot, and sure enough my friend had one laying around that he gave me for free. Needs new struts, keys, weatherstripping, half of the hinge riveted back on, and a good cleaning but shes good as new now and I'm only into it $50.

 

My toolbox has been one of the best thing I ever did to the trailer. I use to pack it full when I had my crawler. It will hold a lot of spare parts and tools for my trips. Very handy and convenient.

This is my trailer that I tow our motorcycles with. We are in south Arizona this weekend riding to some wineries and enjoying a terrific steak at the Steak Out in Elgin, AZ.
