Supply and demand I guess, their orders out strip production many times over

I wonder if Toyota’s Marketing department thinks one is better than the other. :monocle:

I like how when they mentioned the Grades/Performance they featured the TRD PRO but for Ford it’s a grayed out XL single cab long bed work truck. Ironically that’s the configuration that has a payload of 1000 pounds more than the Tundra.

Just an FYI, the Ford 4Auto system is not nearly as nice as the torsen setup in the Toyota’s. I have a Lariat F150 and Lexus GX with the Torsen. Its not bad, and far better than just a 2Hi/4Hi t-case, but the Torsen with CDL is just awesome.

its just too bad that Toyota is stupid and passed over the option on both the 2022 Tundra and new Sequoia

Just saw the Toytec 2022 Tundra driving around Moab today, assuming it’s their truck since it had a giant banner on the side. It’s the first 2022 Tundra I’ve seen in person that I actually liked the look of. Sorry I didn’t get a picture, he turned before I thought about it.

My Tremor comes with 4A and Torsen in front diff and locking rear. Better than any of the above. :anonymous:

Just did a 2 hour each way road trip in the XLT and couldn’t help noticing the seat bolsters seem to be in just the right place in comparison to my 09 Crewmax SR5 or ‘16 Challenger RT. First time in a long time I did not find myself shifting my pelvis around by the 2-3 hour mark to alleviate lower back aches. Felt like I could have gone for 6 more hours and still been good. The seats are not what I would cushy or plush. Firm, but shaped in exactly the right way. My 09’s seats were softer but I would need a break after a few hours even if I didn’t need to pee or get gas.

On the challenger I had an adjustable height lower back bolster but
Still could never quite find the sweet spot for a pain and cramp free 3 hour-plus stretch of driving.

My wife is the ultimate barometer because if there’s something to complain about she will find it. She had other gripes about the interior but nothing to say about seat comfort. Complaint number one for her seemed to be there is no easy way to seek the next consecutive radio station one at a time using steering wheel controls. You have to get your presets in. I am kind of with her on that.

Yeah I love Toyota's Torsen with CDL. Our V8 4Runners (and I think your GX) are always in 4HI with the Torsen t-case. The '19 Sequoia has all modes. 2wd, 4hi with Torsen and CDL and 4lo. Sure would have been nice if Toyota walked that into the new generations.

I'm just exploring options and the Powerboost is one that appeals to me. Don't know if I have the balls to tradein the Sequoia for a truck I don't know jackshit about.

I've test driven 2 Tundras so far. And this is the biggest hang-up for me. Price has gone up significantly, and with both dealers holding firm to large mark-ups, this is the one lacking thing that has caused me to balk at buying a new Tundra. Just way way way too much money to not have some kind of AWD.

Only the Sequoia, Land Cruiser, GX, LX and 4Runner. Seems to me it should have migrated into the Tundra and stayed in the Sequoia.

I don't know. I'm not a Tundra enthusiast. Other competing trucks offer it.

Seems with the significant price increase they could've included it.

Didn’t think so. I had a 1st Gen Tundra and it didn’t have it. Though some of my 4Runners had it, but not my current 2021 OffRoad Premium. Thanks Toyota.

What I've heard from the mouth of Mike Sweers is "Our customers don't want or need this". Survey says . . . . . .

I remember when the Tundra was being shown off to the automotive press/YT'ers... Many of them asked "does it finally have AWD option?" That should've been a clue.

Once I can get one of these trucks near invoice, I'll get over it.

You literally just listed the majority of the content on a new Tundra.

Buying a new vehicle must be tough, paying for very expensive stuff you don't even want.

Nah I know. But that aside the video wasn’t that convincing.

They didn’t do them selves any justice. Like when they described XM, “with over 265 channels, sports, lamest, news right at the fingertips blah blah.” And then say “ford has Xm compatibility.” like it’s literally the same thing. XM is XM. So all that fancy features is on any car with XM.

I’m on the younger side of the Tundra driver demographic, and I’m with you. I just want simple and reliable so I can get to the places I want to go. Several times per year, those places are very remote, and my priority is maximum confidence that my truck will get us back. If that means a few less MPGs, then great; sign me up!

I also have very low tolerance for the kinds of buggy issues that require trips back to the dealer for any reason. The kinds of things I see Ford-driving family members having to put up with on a regular basis. If someone is happy as long as the dealer takes care of it every time, and if they swap out vehicles for the next shiny thing every few years while keeping a payment, then it doesn’t really matter what you drive.

With so many folks blindly throwing 60+ thousand at an ugly and buggy truck. You need at least one voice of reason in the "other" camp.

I think a lot of the unhappy folks are that way because they wanted one but Toyota failed to deliver what they as a consumer want.

I do feel for the guys getting crushed from buying a sub par product. But I wish I could remember the screen names of all the fan boys who swore that this truck would be perfect with no major issues day 1, shtting on the big 3 while making those statements.
