    Hello,

I'm in Ontario and have ordered a 22 Tundra Platinum. The dealer wasn't clear or had knowledge if in fact it does come with power side steps and power rear tailgate step or not.

Anyone order one or have received a Platinum in Canada/Ontario and can help answer this question.

In Canada, the power running boards and bed step are included in the Advanced Package. upload_2022-4-13_19-59-29.jpgupload_2022-4-13_20-0-4.jpg

    Thanks for this info.

They should be available for add-on after delivery I assume. Can you also get the bumper step as add on?

First off, welcome to the forum! I don’t know if or when they may be available for purchase/install if they don’t come from the factory as part of the Advanced Package. I also noticed on the Toyota Canada website that the Advanced Package is only available on the Platinum hybrid. That may be why there’s limited information at this time given the hybrids aren’t available yet.

Thank you I'm happy to be here! Will learn some valuable information.

I noticed that the Advanced option is on the Hybrid only. However, when you build the Platinum and look at the pictures. The rear step and what looks like side steps are in the picture. So was kind of confusing as to if comes from factory or not. Will have to wait and see. The dealers haven't had enough inventory to know what's coming with each trim level, understandable.

Be careful with powered side steps and bed steps in Canada. The road salt and winters are hard on the moving parts. You need to keep them cleaned and lubed or they will seize up after a couple years. I had them on my Ford and they are cool feature, provide a very wide and stable step at the perfect height, and they give the truck a clean look when retracted. But I grew tired of watching them slow down over time and feeling like "will this be the time they stop working again" every single time I opened the door. They did seize up once or twice and I was able to get them working again by cleaning with a wire brush, using lots of penetrating lube, and opening and closing the door 50 times to free them up.

Also passenger side seems to be worse because it gets used less.

I would pass on them in the future and the TRD running boards on my 22 Limited seem to be just fine. Just my 2 cents for you before making the purchase.

Also keep an eye out for how many F150s and Expeditions you see with one running board hanging out because they're seized in the open position. You'll be surprised.

Thank you for the information. I didn't think of it in that sense. I would just expect in the higher trims for it to be included. Powered or non powered don't matter to me, just need a step.
