This is out of my 2002 manual. I think I will try to stay under 10 percent. What is MTSE?B154544C-053A-4090-B3BF-599224E78A75.jpg

MTBE is an old school octane booster which is either banned or no longer in use.

That owners manual is ahead of its time for a 2002. Nice find!

Every now and then I'll blend a gallon or two of pure ethanol (E98) on a full tank. Cheaper than 91 and the best octane booster out there..

Nothing about this post is MPG related. Shove your MPGs ;)

So we are good with a 15 summer blend?? It will not cause corrosion or any damage?

MTBE was banned years ago. It is nasty stuff that does not breakdown.

I had no idea. So MTBE is not ethanol?

Ethanol corrosion/damage has become a myth with modern vehicles. E15 will only help your car. Again I am not talking about MPG.

Now granted that these gas companies are blending ethanol with shit tier gas to make it 87 octane. So not all octane are created equal. You'd be better off doing your own blend by splashing some E85 in your gas, but pointless really on these trucks.

    Sometimes I run E30.
