does anyone here have an issue where the truck turns on your phone's wifi and bluetooth automatically??? I have a android, not sure if that has anything to do with it... Not really a fan of the android auto. seems to be quirky between plugging it in and then turning on the wifi and bluetooth. wondering if its just me. my settings on the Toyota app are set to activate Android auto.

Ever since updating the head unit software I am having intermittent connection issues with Android Auto.....just confirming your experience

I too don't care for Android auto and don't use it, turn it on etc. With that said, I don't have any issues with my system, I really believe many if not all the issues revolve around Android auto or apple car play. The only thing I need to investigate is having my wife's Apple device not automatically turn on Apple carplay if she uses a USB port to charge (we just discovered this issue yesterday but are thinking it's a setting in her phone and not the truck). It will only do it for the two USB c ports in the front passenger compartment, if she uses the USB on the back of the center console it doesn't turn on.

I think both Android auto and Apple CarPlay work through both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to be able to handle the amount of data needed.

When connected, my understanding is both the truck’s and your phone’s Wi-Fi become in unavailable, by being tied up in the connection.

It's an Android issue, not a Toyota one. I recently went through this and some of my apps had permissions to control bluetooth settings. Google 'Disable Bluetooth Scanning', or try one of these methods:
    • Method 1: Go to Settings > Location > Scanning > disable Bluetooth scanning.
    • Method 2: Swipe your phone from up to reveal quick settings, hold down the location icon for a while, then click Scanning, then disable Bluetooth scanning.
    • Method 3: Go to Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth > Scanning settings > disable Bluetooth scanning
    • Method 4: Go to Settings > Location > improve accuracy > Disable Bluetooth Scanning
