I would love to get the power running boards and power bed step on my upcoming Limited but it looks like Toyota is not going to offer them as an accessory to purchase.I love the clean look of the body lines with the convenience of the power running board. It keeps the look of the truck without having to add the predator/oval steps. Next option is probably aftermarket like AMP. Does anyone know if AMP is the manufacturer that supplies the Toyota power running boards/bed step?

My question for you Platinum trim & up owners that have the power running and bed step, could you take a picture underneath the truck to see where the running boards and bed step are plugged in? I would like to see if the existing wiring is also there for a limited trim.

    Thanks in advance guys.

I don’t know if AMP is the supplier but the brackets look similar to the f150s.

I ended up going with the plat over the limited because of the power boards and AVS. In the end it’s worth the extra cost time me.

The strut that controls the boards are located under the front seating area.

Bumping this thread back up to see if anyone has tackled this project or ordering parts individually from Toyota and adding power running boards to an SR5 or Limited etc.

Some folks have claimed to order some of the parts, the wiring harness isnt available though. Best to wait for AMP to release them

i doubt it. the parts alone will cost more than the factory cost of the whole package. plus the oem system is not a amp product repackaged. the blurb in the brochure about amp is just legalase to cover toyota for using the AMP name to describe the same function the oem part does like the AMP steps do since people are more familiar to the AMP product.
