I just wanted to see if anyone has had any issues with running a 22 Tundra through an automatic car wash? Specifically, one where you drive in and place the transmission into neutral, and the truck is pushed through the wash.

    TIA

I run mine through the scratcher all the time. Just slowly drive up and it'll apply the brakes for a second but then you press and release the brake pedal and it'll let you creep forward. I'm not sure about the specific type you are talking about, though.

I go through a wash 2-3 times a week, no issues at all. I usually hear beeps and alerts the whole time, but no worries about driving on/off. It should also be noted that the wash I use really likes to pull the cars very close together on the track, still no issue.

Unrelated to your question, but a gut wrenching car wash problem...I had one of the huge straps that's brush over the car wrap around my folded side mirror! I could do nothing but watch as the truck moved forward and the material stretched tighter and tighter. Something had to break, but which was stronger? Thankfully the mirror won and the material broke with an audible pop, sounded like someone fired a gun in the wash. In hindsight, I sure wish I had recorded it, but I was in shock LOL.

I found the button to the left of the steering wheel to turn off the AEB. Had a beep or 2, but no issues running it through the wash. I tucked in the side mirrors.

Also, at the end of the wash when the green light says go, I was able to slip the transmission into Drive from Neutral without having to step on the brake.
