My George Foreman grill is pretty ugly. My lady won’t let me keep it in the counter.

Umm, first off the entire truck is ugly.

    Secondly the SR grill/trim isn't chromed out. I'd argue that's #1.

And as a foot note the Sr5 is different than the SR. You have those lumped together as if they are the same

OP, even with good/fun intentions, all this thread will do it let the whiners and those who bitch incessantly have another platform ....as you can see it didn't even take 30 minutes.

Oddly enough, I have always bought other brands because I thought the Tundra was many years outdated and butt ugly until the 22, I love it. As far as grills, the less shiney chrome the higher on the list for me, I kinda like the smoked chrome on my Platinum.

My limited may be dead last
You have the so many mis matched colors
I think I counted 5 different colors on the front
    1. Brushed nickel mustache
    2. Chrome
    3. Grey grill
    4. Black trim
    5. truck color (white in my case)

Whoops! My intentions behind asking were that I intend on swapping out my grille in the future and wanted to see what everybody else thought. I’m pretty torn between the darker platinum grilles and the TRD Pro. This is my SR5

Guess it depends on the look you're going for. In my opinion, the TRD looks good but is more rough/off road looking while the darker chrome is a dressier more luxury style. I like the happy medium of the darker style chrome; I don't want an off road truck but on the same token really hate a lot of chrome on my truck. I really think auto makers are way out of touch with their buyers.

But they're not. They are out of touch with the small percentage of buyers who are enthusiasts, but that is a very small portion of their market.

Numbers don't lie. Let's stick to the Tundra for this exercise.

Roughly 100-150k Tundras produced per year through the trucks 22 model years gives us between 2.2 and 3.3 million Tundras produced/sold. This is the largest/most active enthusiast site for Tundras, right? We have a bit over 70,000 members listed, but that doesn't include those that were one post visits, or those that have disappeared into the ether, or even passed away. For argument's sake, let's say that's an accurate number, and let's triple it to account for enthusiasts who aren't on this, or any other site. That give you 210,000 Tundra buyers that you could count as enthusiasts who are big on making their trucks their own and are going to change anything about it from how it was stock.

All that adds up to 210,000 out of 2.2-3.3 million Tundras being owned by enthusiasts. Percentage wise that is about 6.3-9.5% of the owners. So, at most they're not in touch with 10% of their market when it comes to chrome, BUT that's only valid if every single one of that 10% is 100% in agreement on the evils of chrome. Given that there are people who openly state that they 'like the chrome", "don't understand the hate", and such then we can safely say that it's less than 1 in 10 buyers that are worried about it. I guess we should all start listening to the 1 in 10 dentists that don't recommend product X, Y, or Z as well?

They do market research, pay tons of money for it, and go with what will bring them the broadest appeal. So, you are correct, we can agree to disagree, but that doesn't make you right about how much of their customer base they are out of touch with.

Laugh, say it's wrong, impugn it, but offer no counterpoint, ideas, or explanations... because just saying you're right makes it so... you must be a peach to have around for any kind of discussion. I've at least tried to illustrate a thought process, but you're just going "I'm right and you're wrong! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" in response.

Wait, we have to resort to some sort of thought process now? I thought the new game was just say it and it's true. If that doesn't work, keep saying it. But I digress. My opinion that needs no support is that grille looks like shit in any configuration.

Correct, I offer no counter points. You nor I have any type of data that could be relatively factual. I am not going to spew a bunch of numbers that don't make sense for the sake of trying to prove a point to an internet stranger that will not ever agree with the opinion I have offered nor that I even care that they agree. I merely made a statement, you made a counterstatement with your own numbers thrown in, not a big deal. Though some on this forum and others I visit enjoy arguing with strangers, I see no point and reap no rewards from it. Enjoy your day

Right, you'll just insult through feigned politeness while extolling your own virtue and superiority, because you're better than anyone who engages in civil discussions on the internet. What possible benefit could there be from sharing and discussing differing views when you hold the only correct view? Heaven forbid you share something you might know, or even worse *gasp* learn something you didn't by having an open mind and carrying out some form of discourse. Much better to write off what others say as "nonsense" because you're so superior you can't be bothered to engage in a discussion. I mean, what is this place? A forum?

Including facts from both Oxford and Webster dictionaries.

Everyone has different tastes. I like some chrome. I don't like a lot of chrome but enough to create a contrast. I understand when some folks just hate any chrome. I have a 1794 that had a big ole wad of chrome on the front. I wasn't real wild about the look. I added a touch of contrast and got rid of the chrome insert. I kept the chrome surround.

I am not wild about the front grill/bumper on the new Tundras. I like some of the examples that I have seen of some of the new Tundras with custom bumpers. It breaks up that whole gob of whatever that look is for a front end.
