I am wondering what happens with the views from the cameras above the back window when you add a topper? Do you lose the surround view and back up assist functions? Anybody have pics with a topper yet?

No toppers out yet. Leer will start production next month, forgot to ask my "guy" if the cameras will still work

No toppers out that I know of. I'm still trying to get Softopper to respond to me to tell me whether their 2021 version will fit a 2022 for weeks now to no avail.

Camera above rear glass is probably no longer going to be able to see much other than the topper. Maybe in the future it will be possible to remove the rear CHIMSL/camera assembly and plug into the wiring harness and install a sealing plate, then mount the CHMSL/camera assembly on the top rear of a bed cap with the wiring tucked up into the roof of the bed cap?

It would be pricey, but would give full functionality.

seems on some newer trucks everything works fine and on others it’s an issue. Looks like you can extend the camera input line and relocate it- saw that on a ford forum I believe

The 2 cameras on the Rear Cab above rear window in 1794 are for Bed View and Digital Rear View Mirror option. They have no effect on Rear tailgate camera used when in Reverse for Nav w/ guidelines. They both are likely blocked w/ topper but are not used for any Nav or 3D view. The Rear View Mirror camera would be great if it could be relocated to rear of a topper/cap.
