Have any of you ever removed the cloth on the bottom of the rear crew cab seat? Reason I ask, I'm thinking of creating some kind of Velcro quick-release system to mount my AR-9 to the bottom of the seat. Just curious what it looks like in there..
I know they make a lockable box but I already have the storage bins and they are full.

The cloth is super thin so I don't think it would support it. My dog wore through mine in a couple spots before I put a seat cover over the folded seats. Once it stops pouring rain, I'll peel it back a little and see what lies beneath. There is likely a metal subframe that you could get creative with.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, the metal framework. If you could snap a pic that would be the bee's knees. I'm thinking I could loop some quick release straps over the metal, secure to the frame and just leave the 2 sides of the Velcro hanging. Mount the weapon with the 2 strips and have it secured so I can raise and lower the seat for quick access..

You might be able to do what you are asking about. I did Katzkin in my truck which required a tear down.

When you lift your seat, what you’re seeing is just fabric that is
Velcro’d in place. In the actual seat cavity, there may be space to rivet or weld a bracket in place. I’ll send you a torn down seat pic when I can.

    Sorry so late!!

Here is a shot of the un-upholstered rear seat bottom. The seat is basically on its back, seat bottom folded up, and the cavity you see is the interior of the lower seat:

*note- that is the smaller/shorter driver side seat. The other side is longer, but similar as I remember.

Careful working with the seats when they are stripped- lots of sharp edges.

Isn’t the drivers side the longer side? On the 21 it is, different on older models?

    Alot of them
The driver's side has been the longer side. It's a 60/40 split....at least for the DC.
