I will have to fly to Iowa from Charlotte and drive it back but it was the best deal I could find. MSRP has gone up almost $2500 since I ordered it too but I'm locked in at that price.

Mine has Torsen, Pano Roof, Fold flat console, 2KW Inverter, Trailer Tow, and B&O Unleashed. I did opt out of BlueCruise since I enjoy driving (manual Taco now) and it will still have adaptive cruise, lane departure etc. Oh and I deleted the Auto Start/Stop.

You raise a great point: not all drivetrain issues are the same. Tundra's main drivetrain issue is a bit of oil moisture on the sides of the engine block. But Toyota drivers are actually upset about it because they demand perfection.

Doors flying open on the highway, water leaks, electrical/computer gremlins, paint peeling, etc. all not included in that figure. Most of my family drives Fords, and they're usually going back to the dealer for non-drivetrain related issues.

Is it strange to you that people don't share your love of Ford on a Toyota forum?

My only issue I had with my truck was a couple months after buying it, the bluetooth mic went out in the cab. It was swapped under warranty. Other than that it has been solid.

In fact its my Lexus that has given me more troubles and I have only owned that for 2 years. Can't wait for the valley plate leak to happen or the SAIS to fail.

Which Ford was it, one of the Henry’s or maybe Edsel? Wait a minute, it’s probably the one that owns the Detroit Lions!

    Research share.
Ford F150 Lightning XLT seems priced the same as the Limited Tundra.
8 year/100k warranty on electrical components. US $$ info sheet attached
Canadian Lightning forum info show May '22 build dates.
In Canada the Lightning as of now will not qualify for a rebate. Hope the amount gets changed to include at least an XLT. $68k Cdn price.

    From CRA website:
Before including a car on the list of eligible vehicles, Transport Canada has reviewed an application from the automaker and has found that the vehicle meets the iZEV Program requirements. Namely, that the vehicle is:
a vehicle with six seats or less, where the base model Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is less than $45,000; and
    higher priced versions of these vehicles, up to a maximum MSRP of $55,000, will also be eligible for purchase incentives;

I’ll just randomly throw in that I can’t speak for their trucks, but I drove a Mustang for years. It made it to 200k miles, but it took two fuel pumps, two transmissions, and seemingly half a million sensors and thermostats to get there. Not to mention I didn’t have cold AC for the last few months I owned it.

Ford’s trucks may be totally different, but when I decided I wanted a truck? It just wasn’t the right time for me to even consider a Ford vehicle.

On trucks hybrid/EV is a bit different due to torque. Especially a pure EV.

The F-150 Lightning has 775 lb-ft of torque.
    The 3.5-Liter EcoBoost V-6 has 510 lb-ft of torque.

Or, to keep it on the Tundra:

    TTV6: 479 lb-ft of torque
    Hybrid: 583 lb-ft of torque

But I agree with normal cars. If you're cross-shopping a Camry to a Model 3, and go for the Model 3 based solely on "savings", you're definitely overestimating how much gas costs.

why does anyone keep a POS vehicle for 200k miles (not kilometers) ?

my last go round with Ford was when my wife was pregnant with fraternal twins.
First an Aerostar and then a Windstar.
The rebates were too high to resist but both were POS vehicles.

The EV world is different. I believe its going to be an all or nothing thing.
The powertrain all works well or it doesn't. JMO
The first F150 Lightning longer term reviews will probably be the most anticipated of any out there.

fwiw and I will say it again.
I think its great to be able discuss and share info on a non-Toyota vehicle here.

    oh and I almost forgot
I saw my first 2022 Tundra today on the road walking the dog on a quiet street earlier. Only saw the back end - it was so quiet when it went by. A white one.

I kept the Mustang cause I was a broke law school student and couldn’t afford to replace it. Not with anything considerably better, anyway.

A used F150 Powerboost is still on my my radar, mainly because of the onboard wattage. I'm concerned about the longevity and frequency in the shop other than for regular maintenance.

I highly doubt people are buying Teslas to save on gas. It's not like they cross shopped a Camry and bought a Tesla because it's an EV. You're buying a Tesla because it's a Tesla. They get good mileage sure but the fit and finish is trash, the panel gaps are abundant and it's a status icon.

My Lightning msrp is 79.5k, an equally built Lariat powerboost is $73.5k and I could probably get $7k off. So 66.5k. Once I factor in my EV credit it's really only 72k for the lightning and that would mean a difference of 5.5k -6k. To me that's worth it for the EV aspect, full coil suspension, frunk storage, and 4.5 second 0-60.

I think people also buy the Teslas for all of cool technology and quirks that make it different. Auto pilot, fetch, funny screen modes, all the cameras, no typical dealership model, the frunk. But yes, its also a bit of a 'status' symbol. It says I'm financially well off, environmentally conscious, and technologically current.

Anyway...back to the Ford vs Toyota thing. I would only get another Ford if it was leased or intentionally short term ownership.

    Priced a '22 Powerboost Lariat 4WD 6.5' bed Supercrew 7.2kW. $61,845 before TTL. https://shop.ford.com/configure/f15....A9VAB.47W.53A.CCAB.AWD.99D.477.779.68L.U50.]

Main reason for Lariat was 4Auto, not available on XLT. I added Tow Package, both are needs for me. Not a bad price. I don't know jack about F150's therefore I will be doing more research about longevity and reliability vs the 5.7l Sequoia that has reliable 2WD/fulltime 4HI with CDL/4LO.

Will have to consider the old sayings, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", and "If it ain't broke don't try to fix it", and "The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence".

Dude doesn't seem to own a truck for more than 6 months, don't know how the interviewer could seriously ask him "which truck do you think will be more reliable long term?"

Bob Carter EVP of Toyota Sales North America was on Bloomberg today
Said he sees the current situation (demand vs supply) New and Used vehicles is likely going into mid -2023.
Toyota topped GM for sales in NA 1st Quarter. I am surprised by Tesla on the chart.
If I do anything it will be for a 2023 model.
I am wondering with inflation where it is, how it might affect 2023 new vehicle pricing now. 8^0

Ford has raised their prices 3 times since I ordered in late December, including a price hike today. If I ordered the same build right now, it would cost me over $3500 more than when I ordered. By the time I take delivery I'll pay $63K for a truck with an MSRP North of $75K.

any idea what - by the time means yet ?
is there anything in your contract that says if so much time goes without delivery - the deal is null and void ?
    (curious).

Hmm, can't say that for certain, but I do know the guys that ordered a MY21 that got converted to a MY22 actually got a price reduction even though the MSRP went up. I am a Priority 2 so I expect to be scheduled soon and have a July-ish delivery to my dealer.

Well being curious, I just got off the phone with the car club rep at Toyota.
He said there will probably be a nominal increase of about $200 at Toyota -
however for those that may be interested.
He also said he is now taking orders for 2023 only, with delivery in Jan - March 2023 (maybe).
He says this applies to Canada.

I've never seen mid year or quarterly MSRP hikes like I've seen for the past year. Hell Ford just raised the Mach E by 3-5k depending on trim. I bet the Lightning 23MY will be 5-8k more than it is now. It's out of control.
