Looking for the hinge and socket for my tailgate. Backed into a dock with tailgate down and bent that. One part is on the tailgate and the other part is on the truck by the light. I don’t know how else to explain it. Any help is appreciated.

The hinge is listed here. @Roman can confirm part numbers for you. I'm not sure about the hinge socket though. That's why Roman is our friend

Dropped in to say I didnt know the tailgate had to be in an almost closed position to remove it. I was yankin and tuggin and getting no release, felt like a teenage boy again... Lol.
So ya leave it open, only a couple inches, then it will slide off towards the passenger side.
Just in case you were having the same problem of "why the hell wont you come off there you sunbitch"

Unfortunately, I to did something very similar. I also bought all the tailgate hinge pieces. What I found was the hinge mounting location under the drivers taillight was also bent. I did my best to bend it back and was able to make the tailgate operate without any rubbing.

All that to say it was very disappointing...:annoyed::censored:
