Today was a damn good day! My kid got to sit in the InCOLEherent and it made his day, month, and probably year. Big thanks to @AZBoatHauler for inviting us out.

I had to explain to him that all the cool drivers give the thumbs up, so he had to too. I didn’t sit in it, but that’s ok. I’m planning on heading out to the next race that I think is in November at Wild Horse Pass, so I’ll sneak in there then lol.

I haven’t completed decided on a smoker yet. Gotta replace the grill first. It’s 15+ years old and throwing flames out of the burners. Already rebuilt it once so I’m done.

Yeah I was going to say, I’d be down to check it out when it’s at Firebird raceway……. Hidden lake is a little far of a trek for me.

Green mountain makes good entry level ones - but they are made in China just like Traeger and many others.
Moving to USA-built is a hefty step in quality, and cost. Pitts & Spitts, Yoder, Rec Teq all make some really good stuff.
I’m telling you - run up to Super1 in Athol and talk to Dan in the Ace Hardware.

I’m a couple years away from getting a smoker but I’m definitely going to head up there when time is right. Every suggestion you have had has been spot on! Definitely the reason I bought a Seekins AR. :fistbump:

This one guy asked me to be his “second mate” at a bbq rib comp held out there(one of the owners out there has his own bbq sauce and spice line- mullet sauce) and after I looked at where it was and what they charged for non hookup camp sites, I had to pass.

I know it’s the cheap brand, but I’ve got a vertical pit boss, it rocks.
I got the vertical because I feel like it’s a better use of space, and I didn’t need another “grill style” patio ornament.

I prefer to think of it as inexpensive. I've got a veritcal pit boss and it rocks. I do also use a pellet tube because for some things the pellet smoke isn't enough. Customer service is second to none. I had a temp control issue when I first got mine. They answer the phone on Sunday. They sent me a new temp probe and control panel. Turned out to be a partially inserted pin on the control panel connector. Now I've got a spare temp probe and control panel. And yeah, even though they're called pellet smokers, the horizontal grill style seems to be just a grill to me.

    Yes!!!!! This exactly!!!!
Mine had a dent in the hopper lid, they sent me a free cover, haha that’s all I wanted!!! It’s funny, I can’t run tregger pellets in my unit……..
    yeah I already have a grill…………..
And I definitely use a smoke tube on top of the smoker, also a water bath is the key to all smoking, it helps promote natural convection and keeps the meat from drying out as bad.

People holding decapitated heads and a human heart while smiling kind of make me nervous. And that looks a lot like the couch I had in my first house. But the severed head looks more like Lyle Lovette than me, whew.

I've never done the escape room thing, but it's on our list.

I love that the tundra gets to tow the boat to the water!
What’s on top of the flag pole? Is that like a solar light ring or something? Was there any gale force winds to test out the mo-mounts, that flag is at attention!

This was our first in a year… last spring break we did four of them in a row in Palm Springs (one each night)

Definitely start with an easier one just to get an idea how the game is played…it’s never something that requires a crazy leap to figure out - usually just really good observation and an ability to deduce. Our family is made up of four people that all think differently and that is very helpful, because often what is tripping up a few of us becomes obvious to someone else.

Beats the hell out of a diesel stuck on regen. you got it - solar light. It was Sam’s flag and pole but worked great. Probably saw 15-20 mph gusts at times - mount is rock solid. :muscleflexing:

Speaking of grills, I am a huge fan of Weber bbq’s. They are expensive, but last forever. The only thing they need are new grates and flavor bars every 2-3 years. During Covid I used my pellet smoker for a lot of cooks, even steaks (finished with a hot sear in a cast iron) and now when we use the Weber for something we can often taste the gas.

Last week after the last Blackstone conversation I suggested to the wife we consider one when the Weber dies (if it ever does). Yesterday we were talking about spring chores and how the Weber needs new guts. She suggested we look at the Blackstone instead of phucking with new parts for the Weber.

Almost as if it was her idea…
