I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations or places they might have had any sort of suspension work done on their 1st Gen. I am looking to add a lift and level kit to my truck with some new shocks and whatnot this summer and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of places in the area to have it done that does good work and isn't overpriced.

My local Les Schwab has been nothing but great. That being said I would assume it's very hit and miss depending on managers and techs.

I looked into them and saw them as honestly the best option, but was just wondering if anyone had input on any other places. Not to mention it seems like they focus 90% of their marketing on Toyota owners

Idk about the locations in California, but I’ve only had bad experiences with les schwab. Greenhorn stripped out one of my studs last time and did a crummy job fixing it. >_<
They only get my business because they’re the only alignment place in town.

You may have better luck elsewhere.

Manager at my local is a Tundra guy and loves doing all kinds of suspension work. I have 3 coworkers who have had work done there with no issues, a F250, a Chevy 2500 and a Chevy 1500 all 3 with 4"+ lifts wheels tires ect. The sales guy I bought my Tundra from had his car lowered wheels tires and the such there. Like I said the people are what make the difference

    That’s good
    Must be a good Schwab.

For the OP, I don’t think it’s too hard for someone to biff a suspension lift install. I wouldn’t be worried.

It’s not difficult to put in a leveling kit. Just need some basic tools, time, and youtube videos. I mean, if you wanted to try and do it yourself that is. save some $$$

Doing the work yourself is a very good learning experience and will help you do trail repairs in the future. Plus it’s a good way to collect the correct tools. ^^^^^^ like he said YouTube videos all day.
