We all know that with enough money, anything is possible....

So how long until someone decides they really want that 3rd gen interior in their second gen. I wonder if its even possible. I've seen 2020 superduty interiors in 2003 superdutys so it gives me some sort of hope someone will do it and lay a blueprint for the rest of us smart saps who knew better than to lose that sweet v8 sound.

The 3rd gen is a smaller truck than the 2.5. Don't think it would fill the cab.

Those super duties didn’t change much for 20 years so a lot of that stuff bolted in. The tundras a different beast. It’s doable with lots of time and money I’m sure. But probably far from worth it

Personally I kinda like the 2.5 gen interior. Prefer the 2nd gen just because there’s more storage spots. The 3rd gen… it’s really nice. But eh… I hate massive touch screens.

meanwhile my 05 interior is just… why the hell did they make it all round? At least it looks better in dark grey than my original tan..

P.S. I could do without the computer crap or anything that that screen has to do. Play the radio is good enough, cd player would be ok for books.

I wish I still had the cd player sometimes. But eh. CarPlay is nice with my setup… but my trucks getting very close to that 20 year old mark. All your trucks are loaded with tech vs mine lol.

My problem is I'm not loaded. Flip phone and never sent a text, no apps. That screen is useless.

Im perfectly satisfied with my 2020. I just think the interior on the new truck is way nicer and would be cool to have. I truly doubt i would spend the money to do it though even if i had disposable income like that.

There are some 2.5 modded interiors that I'd argue that are just as nice. The big trump card the 3rd gen has IMO is the full panoramic sunroof and camera system.

Youve got it backwards, how long before someone puts a 5.7 in a 3rd Gen?

I did the full 2.5 Gen (2014-2021) interior into my 2 Gen (2007). It’s only a regular cab but I’m think I’m the first one to have swapped the new dash ect. I have since helped or seen a few other people do it.

As with any project, the wiring is one of the biggest hurdles. I glanced at some of the 2022+ wiring diagrams last week on TIS. A lot going on in there. Parts are still almost non existent. I have only seen 3 2022s on auction websites wrecked ect. To do it you would most likely need to buy and entire truck. I can tell you it won’t be easy.

I haven’t even looked close enough to see if the dash, cab ect is relativity the same size.

The truck is , actually, dimensionally the same.

It's just that the dash is larger, with more protrusions sticking out of it than the older gens.

And on the seats are bulkier.

In the double cab the bottom seat cushion got bigger and took away leg room. Same thing in the crew max

Since the seats and dash are all bigger, in the same amount of space. Everything feels more cramped.

    Toyota failed there.
