Hey guys! I know that this whole forum is plagued with suspension talk
But for arguments sake, what would happen if I put 4wd coils on my 2wd DC?

For context, I recently slapped on some Billy 4600's and the trucks booty is now a half inch higher (or more) than it was on factory shocks, and the ride in the front is pretty damn harsh here on Tucson roads. I do have new yota LBJ and LCA'S coming in, (mine are roasted) but the 360mm springs are tempting to get an extra bit of height in the front. I just don't want to do a whole leveling kit....yet.

You might gain a little lift, something around an inch. Double cabs are heavy so hard to know how much.

@jImmegart had 4x4 coils on his 2wd access cab.

And that's really all I'm looking for, I tow enough that the rake doesn't bug me, but I can see the excessive dip in the front.

That's exactly what I thought. But those old boys were B.L.O.W.N. and it blew my mind.

Yep. New Bilsteins have a pretty good charge to them. Thing about it, is it will settle as they wear...

I only know springs by weight, but the 2WD and 4WD are within 50 lbs of each other, sure.

Did the DC’s get the progressive springs the early TRDs got? Beefier springs would make the ride harsher.

Both. But I also attribute it to the truck still needing a bit of help. The ride in the rear is pretty harsh, the fronts, well ... I'll know more after the LCA and LBJ's. The DC's had the Bilstein springs that have since been discontinued, hence why I was opting for the 360mm 4wd springs.

I bought used coils from an AC, V8, 4wd and put them on my AC, V6, 2wd. I don’t think they ride too harsh, I think they’re firm in a good way and feel planted. I gained roughly 1.5 inches I believe. I personally don’t think the weight difference between 2wd and 4wd coils will make a huge difference, but I’m also not well versed in suspension feel.
