Hello everyone, just purchased a 2006 Crew Cab, 4WD with 110k miles on it a couple days ago. In great shape, but I've found that the rear crew cab doors don't have any positive stops. They just keep falling closed if I'm on an unlevel surface.

Does everyone else have this issue? If so, is there a good solution to it? Something I can add that will give the door stops, like the front doors?

Looks like there's a great community here!

If they don't have door checks, someone removed them and didn't replace them. Buy them new from a dealer, or go to a junk yard and take them off the doors from another truck. Used ones might be worn and need repairing to hold the door open though.

Dead stock with oem 16" starfish wheels. We'll see how long that lasts. :) Topper of unknown origin.
It's a complete mystery why Toyota can build cars that routinely go 300K - 500K miles but they can't manage to keep the doors from closing when parked on a slight incline.

I've had the same issue for years with my '05 DC. I asked the dealer a few years ago what it would cost to fix. I don't recall the exact amount but I believe it was north of $300 per door. That was the end of discussion for me. Might have to consider the repair kit out of Russia mentioned in post #5.

Yeah, sadly the russian solution, even though it was cheap and very effective, is no longer available unless its old stock.

I just need one for my rear driver door. The others are still working fine.

When I got my truck mine squeaked really bad, and they didn’t work all that well.

So, I greased them, and they are now super quiet, but don’t work at all

I might try removing some grease and see if they slightly come back to life.
