Lipstick on the tow hooks

Took the tow hooks off, scuffed with steel wool and cup brush, acetone, and rattle can of New Holland tractor red from Tractor Supply. Did this a couple months ago and it has held up great so far. It’s oil based and takes forever to dry between coats, but seems to be a tough finish. Put coats on until I finished the can for most part over course of several days. Color matches well to my eyes.

 

After owning a ZR2 and AT4, I hated how GM always flaunted their red tow hooks, so I like mine to stay black on the Tundra. The red accents Toyota put on my truck denote functional and expensive upgrades that those trucks typically lack in (red Fox shocks and forged wheels).

That's just my 2 cents, you do you, but I want mine to look nothing like the competition, because they suck.
