Has anyone running these seen a noticble improvement in performance or mileage that justifies the cost of adding them?

I'll be one of those annoying responders who will answer with similar experience but not direct experience...

I'm 99% sure these are just rebranded K&N Filters. If they are, then you won't notice much of anything in the pedal or the pump, based on my experience with them. I've run K&N filters on most cvehicles mainly because (I feel) they're more environmentally friendly since you can clean & reuse them. I've had one in my old Taco for about 200k miles and my wife's 4Runner has been running one since we bought it and it now has ~120k miles. The claimed power benefit, if any in reality, is just an "extra" for me.

If you want to try these filters and are on the fence because of the price (since there are 2 of them), then I would wait for K&N to release theirs to market. If the pricing for their Tundra filters hold true to the Tacoma pricing...the K&N filters will be about $15 cheaper each than OEM pricing.

    My 2 cents.

    Too many, but not enough....
    stay with the stock paper.

In order to increase power from the intake, an engine needs more air, the only way to get more air by changing the filter is to reduce restriction, which in turn reduces filtration. Is letting more crap into your engine worth the possibility of 5 hp? Not in my opinion.

That was kind of my thinking as well, but K&N has yet to put out a filter for anything running the V35A-FTS.

Thanks for the input though. Looks like I'll stay stock for the time being.

On my last 2 Tundras I installed the TRD CAIs. I didn't feel any difference, but they looked cool under the hood lol.

I'm running them. No power increase but I can definitely hear the turbos a bit more

What he said. I'd rather have reusable filters regardless, but it's personal prefferrence.

I have used the trd cai’s in all of my vehicles up to this point. I have one in the truck and one as a back up cleaned and ready to put in place of the dirty one when the need arises. I don’t notice any gains in mileage or HP but I like the way they sound and look and they are reusable. So the coat eventually evens out as you move through the paper ones…..at least that’s how I justify it in my head

Idk how you could improved Hp or MPG, when it is in the same location and use same fender opening???
