Has anyone else had problems with their Bluetooth on a 2019 Tundra? It will literally cut disconnect during a phone call after a few min.

YES!!! I think it is the iPhone model. I had a 7 and it was flawless. That phone crapped out and I got a 12 mini. Immediately started having drop issues. I posted on apple forums and obviously they point fingers at tundra. But I find it very ironic that in the span of a few hours when I was “upgrading” phones that Toyota pushed out some firmware to make my phone start dropping. I have an SE model for work I am going to pair to see if I have drop issues. I tell ya the 7 was flawless in my 2013 and my 2019. It has to be the phone. Oh, I have tried it all too….delete and repair, restore factory settings, power off, pulled the SIM card and replaced. At a loss here.

I would consider if I thought this would really solve it. What I get hung up on is my iPhone 7 worked flawlessly and my iPhone 12 mini drops every time. I honestly feel it is a phone issue and not a tundra issue.

Is there a way for you to check the truck radio to see if it is on the latest firmware? Maybe that would help.

It surely wouldn’t hurt to check that. But the firmware would have needed to be updated during the same 3 hours I got the phone. Unless I am missing something (and I am not a tech guy so that is possible).

I have weird bugs with my iPhone too. Sometimes the CarPlay works, sometimes it doesn’t. I switch out chords, disconnect Bluetooth, turn the truck off/on, and it just decides when it wants to work. This issue is across two different cars so I know it’s not just the truck, but some weird bugs with either my phone or the CarPlay interface. ‍♂️

you can have your dealership check it the next time you go in for service. They can update it for you if needed. Maybe there is a firmware that may “fix” the issue you are having.

Have you gone through the whole, unpair from truck and phone. Delete phone from truck. Etc. ?

Yeah. I have done that a dozen times. I searched the problem online and tried every suggestion. The only thing I haven’t done is firmware.

Well, that’s a bummer for sure. Only thing i can think of would to update the firmware. Hoping Toyota had implemented a fix. Otherwise, i have no idea. Upgrade to aftermarket radio, perhaps? I know some don’t care for aftermarket radio.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback! I did have the dealership update it. I got the iPhone 12 when it was released but the this issue just started occurring. I wonder if it was possibly an iPhone update. It’s a shame that a 2019 can’t handle the comparability.

Try a soft reset and see if it’ll do anything. Radio ON. Press and hold Power Button til radio shuts off.

I had some similar experiences with my iPhone 8 on my 2018 SR5. I now have a 2021 and it has plug in Apple CarPlay. Doesn’t the 2019 have the same thing? It might be a good temporary solution until you get the Bluetooth issue sorted out.

So I have the 12 mini like I mentioned. I also have an SE for work. I unpaired the 12 mini and paired the SE and no dropping. Put the 12 mini back on and drops happen.

Weird that it doesn’t like your mini.
