Anyone know which they are supposed to go? My truck had one in and out as I noticed when I washed it the other day.

    In or out?

…they are supposed to be turned in so that they can rub against that strip of black tape when the bed flexes/twists.

When they are out it starts to cause an abrasion on the paint as it’s not rubbing on that strip anymore…and it makes an annoying squeaking sound (I thought I had rodents while driving which is how I discovered that part)

They are for better aerodynamics (saw some wind tunnel video a few months ago) for more mpgs. 3rd gen taco has them too

Mine had one in and one out. When I tucked in the one that was out the darn thing ate way all the paint. I have never touched or messed with them the stupid thing.

Anyone try to address this with the dealership?

Mine were turned in but still rubbed through the paint down to the primer. Dealer is supposed to be ordering a new one along with the molding around the bottom part of the rear passenger window.

Man I have so many little things in this truck. This should be an interesting conversation with the dealership
