Pics of this situation. Are you parked in a face smashing zone? Would he have hit anything that was there?

Here that gas station was on the news advertising $3.69 when everyone else is charging $4.25+.

It actually caused a 5 mile backup on the highway with everyone trying to get to it right off the highway.

It’s only a bad thing when you hit a structural reinforcement like the bumper at too high a speed and bend your frame in the process. Notice how he only hit the areas that would give out easily.

Down the hill, across the boardwalk, and into a parking lot.

It is, looks flatter in the picture. If you walk to the top of the hill, you breathe a little harder.

The things the class will teach you are great, but its up to you to not let someone else do something dumb to yourself. Their mistakes are technically your mistakes. Dont even give em a chance. Always ride where all lanes are available. Pass individual cars quickly, pass the masses moderately. They’re all fools who have stayed up late at night planning to fuck up your day. Its up to you to make none of that matter.

Dude, I'm excited for you on that. Be sure and get some sleep tonight, and layer up tomorrow. You got some gear bought already?

extra layers make you more mentally comfortable, even at the expense of physical comfort. Got my jacket on 100* days.

I have no gear yet. It's a beginner class so I think a lot of it is in the classroom but who knows. I'm about to get some rest and get up early.

As long as you have what they require you're good. You don't need gear yet. See how it goes and go from there. So why is the wife mad?

Got the other air/water tank. This one has 1/2 ports on it, which is nice for water fill. These things are going to have more plumbing than my house it seems.

This is such good advice. Ride like everyone is trying to kill you. Give everyone room, slow when they are in front and able to cut into you, quick to clear them when you have space and have no killers in front of the one you are clearing. I'm sure she, the instructor, will quote me, lol.

This is where bicycle experience helps. Motorcycle with an engine allows you to get out of a s**tty situation quicker but you have similar lack of protection from a motor vehicle. Sure, a motorcycle helmet is better than a bicycle helmet but it's not going to save you from 40+ mph impact with 5000 lbs of steel.

Just assume everyone is trying to kill you and you've got the right mindset.

Tried again today and it worked. Still ended up using my Mac to get it done though. Maybe just a glitch they were going though.
