Proximity power lock /unlock for powered tail gate mod?

So I just ordered the OEM power lock / unlock for the 2020 CM TRD OFFRD. Just thought how cool it would be able to walk up too the tailgate and have it lock / unlock like the door handles, instead of having to walk to the front of the truck to lock / unlock. Anyone have ideas on how to do this or know if this is even possible? Thanks!

 

I think it could be done but you have to consider the tailgate handle doesn't have the haptic touch capability of the front handles and the range of the proximity detection doesn't extend too far past the rear doors. I would think you could probably do it with Techstream and some modifications. You would basically have to trick the truck into thinking the FOB is in proximity of the cabin and that the passenger door is unlocked.

 

Please let us know if you figure it out. I get tired of that 30 ft round trip as well.
